We were looking around for Hero, not quite sure what to do or where to search

We were looking around for Hero, not quite sure what to do or where to search. Centi, Absentia and Mitchell were all three looking and following his scent, but it kept disappearing. Seems as if he kept teleporting, but only for small portions...
I sighed and looked through a few bushes before noticing an almost perfectly hidden piece of cloth, covered in blood. My emotions quickly switched from confusion to worry as I pulled it out and eyed it closely. That was very fresh, and it was warm, which was the more worrying thing.
With the piece in hand I got up and went back to the others. "I found something.", I mumbled and showed them the cloth. Red got even more worried and our three tracking dogs sniffed the piece, taking in the scent. Eventually they ran off and continued searching, soon following a much more clear path for a longer duration. It led into a nearby city, where we asked around. No one seemed to have information where Hero was, so we continued walking.
"And you guys are sure that we're gonna find him at some point?", Centi asked, starting to grow uneasy. "We have to! God knows what he's planning next!", I exclaimed, upset. I never meant to chase Hero away, but this isn't helping. We needed a better way, a more efficient one to find him.
But how...?
I frowned sadly and let my shoulders drop. This wouldn't have happened if I kept my mouth shut. Then Hero's secret would still be hidden and we could help him so much better.
My mind started racing on what could happen, this was getting bad.
Maybe he mistrusts us so much that he put down a wrong trail for us to follow! Or maybe he grew depressed and jumped off of a cliff! Or-
Red interrupted my train of thought with something that made my heart sink into my pants.
"We're approaching a cliff. It's too far for him to jump over tho..."
I let out an audible whimper and prayed for the best, uneasy. Red was right. There was a cliff ahead with almost 10 meters width and 250 in depth. Left and right were a ton of bushes, so only way was forward.
My heart sank more and more as we passed a few bushes that started getting tighter together.
And eventually, we saw the cliff, the sharp rocks loitering around at the bottom, hungry for new victims. Sitting right next to it were multiple wolves, a person, and a ton of blood dripping from the edge of that cliff. The person however was unharmed, it was the wolves that truly got injured.
I tilted my head a bit in surprise as the person calmly threw another attacking wolf down the cliff. This wasn't Hero, it was a realm. And that alone was kinda surprising...
The guy had long, blue-cyan hair with multiple small, pink starfishes scattered in it. He was considerably small, I'd almost guess even a bit smaller than Jubilea (Hard to guess since this guy was wearing boots with quite a bit of sole, meanwhile Jubilea doesn't do that), but nonetheless was insanely strong, tho not much was visible. He was no muscly guy, he was a perfectly fine, thin guy. His skin was roughly as pale as Hero's, and he also wore a black robe with blue stitching at the edges.
I let out a small sigh and turned away. "Let's keep searching.", I muttered and looked around again. The others did too, not paying any attention to the realm behind us.
Sadly, throughout the day, we found no other trace. So we headed back to the cliff and searched there, now that there were no wolves and realms.
I glanced down into the depths before noticing something odd hanging from some vines a few meters beneath us, a crack with a tree growing out of it was the owner of said vine.
The person looked pretty odd from up here, a bunch of stuff didn't make them look like an alive human. Mainly the fact that this one was hanging from the vine by their neck, and that half their limbs were badly bleeding and ripped open, coloring the rock beneath them in the dark red fluids. There was no way they survived that kind of fall, judging by the way their neck was bent, and their blood was dripping.
Getting down there would be absolutely impossible because the cliff was way too loose to climb on, and way too deep.
Nightmare eyed me, then the trees, then the others. "We have some rope. We'll lower Jay down into the cave."
I stared at him. "Are you out of your mind? I'm way too heavy for you guys, this person, I assume that being Hero, is almost halfway down their and dead for sure, and we have no rope! And I'm not gonna climb down there!"
Just as I said that, Mitch pulled out a long rope from his bag. Centi tied it to a tree and they looked at me.
All I did was let out a very heavy sigh, letting them do as they pleased. "Why me?", I asked. Nightmare sighed. "Because, Jay", he started, coming over. "Without you busting his secret, we wouldn't even have to look for him. Sure, it was good that you told us, but at the same time, telling it while Hero was literally next to you? You could've come to us, asked for advice, and we would've taken that slowly."
I let out a sigh, feeling bad. "You're right I suppose.", I muttered.
"Good. Now think fast."
I looked over quickly, but couldn't react fast enough as he pushed me down the cliff. A loud screech escaped me (for once in my life) and I could feel my heart missing beats as I fell and shortly after met the stone wall. Luckily, I had my arms in front of my chest from trying to somehow protect myself while falling, so the impact was rather soft.
I pressed myself against the wall, panting. "WHAT WAS THAT ONE FOR?!", I screeched. Even from down here I could hear Nightmare's giggles, even tho he didn't look over the edge. "You would've only hesitated. Now move your ass down to the person.", he explained between amused giggles.
I grumbled some really colorful swears under my breath, which I never really do, and climbed my sorry ass down the wall to the tree.

(Sorry for the long wait, but my finals start in 4 weeks and we just wrote our remaining tests, so it was purely stress)
