1 day passed.
2 days passed.
3 days passed.
4 days passed.
5 days passed.
6 days passed.
7 days passed.
And on the 8th day, they planned the burial.
The limit for a revival is over, and with that, there is one single place where Notch is, and that place we can't reach alone.
I stayed the majority of the time in my bed, hiding my face in his pillow. It still had his scent on it...
Every single day I refused food and drink, would stare at the fabric of the pillow or at walls. By now Cody was aware of what happened, I could hear him cry every time someone came in.
Evander was here for the first three days, trying to calm me down, but at some point I just told him to leave. I was aware this wasn't his fault alone, but I already couldn't handle that Notchy was gone because I cheated.
He was understanding and left, staying away from me and my family.
Everything had gone silent, I had thrown a hoodie against the only ticking clock in our room, breaking it as it fell from the nail in the wall and broke on the floor.
I hid deeper, sobbing a bit. The pillow was already wet with my tears, but I didn't care. I regretted everything I did, I regret even having met him, he wouldn't have ended up like this! He wouldn't have constantly gotten hurt, he would've been happy...!
The door opened and someone came in, sitting down beside me. I didn't move, still sobbing quietly.
"Did you learn your lesson, Jay?"
I whimpered, nodding. The person beside me picked me up and sat me down on their lap. I kept the pillow close, tho noticed the purple tips of hair.
Why is a realm here...? To finally kill me...? I deserve everything what is going to happen to me, I'm a shitty father, an even worse husband and no good as a friend either.
"Don't say that, Jay. You're a good person, but on the wrong track.", Pietro whispered. I sobbed more and buried my face in the pillow. He rubbed over my head gently, putting the blanket over my shoulders. "Dear lord, you are pretty thinned out already mate! Hold on, let's get you some food!", he exclaimed and got up, keeping me close like an oversized kid. I held on a bit, but mainly gripped the pillow, as usual.
He walked out the room, humming softly as he brought me to the kitchen, sitting me down on a chair. I hated the light, flinching away a bit. The hallway was so bright as well, much different than...
I whimpered and curled up more. A soft hand rubbed over my shoulder, trying to soothe me. "Don't worry, Jay.", the person whispered.
Jubilea...?
I glanced over a bit, unsure. It was him, but he looked a bit different. He was wrapped in a dark grey cloak with golden rim, his symbol on his back, same with Pietro, who had a purple rim. His hair was open, so it looked pretty good.
I hid back in the pillow and waited silently.
"Pietro! Jubilea!", I heard Red exclaim as he came in. I got really tense, just waiting for the shitstorm.
"You guys actually found the time to come over like Hero asked of you. Does he know you're here?", he kept going. That confused me. Hero asked them to come over? Why tho?
"Yeah, he does. He sent us up to Jay. Poor guy didn't eat enough since Notch's death, I'm making him something that he doesn't need to chew or something.", Pietro explained. Red hummed in agreement before stretching tiredly. "Ah, those last few days were incredibly busy. Why didn't he respawn, anyway?", he asked.
That made Jubilea perk up a bit. "He didn't? I thought he would've done so already and is here?", he asked. Red shook his head. "No, he isn't here."
"Weird, he wasn't in the hall either...", Pietro remarked, thoughtfully cutting some herbs. "I figured that TWOR or any other place took him in, but the Lords asked us already, he's not there either."
"And soon after the other judgements asked us as well.", Jubilea added. Red sighed a bit. "This is weird... Is it possible that someone took him away before he reached one of the judgements?", he asked. The incubus nodded. "Yes, that's a possibility, however the corresponding judgement would've noticed, but no one did. So it's uncertain if that's what happened, or if Henory immediately reaped his soul.", he explained while Pietro carefully put the herbs into a pot, alongside some noodles and other vegetables.
I kept watching quietly, not sure what to reply. This was weird...
Pulling my knees closer to my chest, I noticed Hero come in, flopping down on the chair nearest the door, which happened to be next to me. He seemed pretty exhausted, letting out a loud groan. "God damnit, that dragon is getting way too close for comfort. We're almost forced to push the date for the burial so the dragon doesn't Thanos snap us out of existence!", he exclaimed, running a hand through his hair. Pietro watched a bit as Red went over and hugged his husband from behind. "The realms are here, Hero. Maybe ask them for help."
"I'm aware they're here, babe. But they're not gonna be able to help."
"Ya sure?", Jub sighed, tapping the Grimoire gently. Hero frowned slightly. "You genuinely can help?", he asked, surprised.
I didn't listen at this point, staring at the table. If Notch didn't appear in the judgement hall, where is he...? Who got him before he appeared, or did this Henory guy get him?
I wasn't sure what to do, but judging by all of this, I could only think of one thing.
I have to safe him. Have to help and protect him...
I fucked that up before, destroyed our relationship because of my own selfish needs. I should be there for him when he needs me...
With that, my decision stood, and my determination raised my mood a bit.
I'll make it up to you, Notch. No matter the cost.
