My gaze was fixated on Jay as he looked around. This wasn't exactly what was meant to happen. I'm still extremely tired from my most recent outbreak, but now I couldn't care about that. Now, Jay and Hero are the main priorities. We gotta get them both through.
With Jay, this won't be a problem. However, Hero on the other hand...
With all the murders he committed by now, the cannibalism, the attacks on literally everyone...
I let out a deep sigh, almost hopeless. This is bad. Pietro owns the right to nullify our decisions and votes. He has Hero's destiny in his hands.
I ran a hand down my fave before heading to the realm, requesting a small talk with him. Pietro nodded and we headed to a second room. There he turned to me, head tilted.
"What is it that you want to talk to me about, Jubilea?", he asked softly. I took a deep breath before eventually just saying what's up.
"You gotta let Herobrine pass the judgement. This is not him, Pietro. I know he's no constant killer, cannibal or sadist. He's not a bad guy. Something is wrong with him eversince the first real fight with Red where he decided to go to Xander and leave them alone in the time they needed him the most. Hero made a mistake during that time, which is now really, really and quite visibly bad.", I explained. Pietro started thinking, frowning. "He did however commit those crimes."
"I know he did, but I also know he wouldn't have done that if the whole thing with Red did not happen. By now I believe that Demigod is the reason for that, she seems to crave our agony."
Pietro eyed me. "I'll think about your statement when taking my judgement, Jubilea."
I frowned a small bit, but decided not to discuss much. Instead, I bowed a small bit like usual before getting back up and looking into his eyes. "His life rests in your hands, Pietro. You decide what you do with it. But remember, he has a family."
He nodded a small bit and dismissed me. I let out a small sigh, but left and went back to my spot, plopping down onto the chair. Jesse glanced over, worried. "Are you okay, Jubilea?", he asked softly. I nodded a small bit. "Yeah. I believe so at least...", was my reply.
He came over behind me and rubbed over my shoulders to calm me down. Xander didn't step in, he seemed to calm down a bit as well when he saw that.
Usually commoners aren't allowed in the judgement hall, but since they were already up here and we can't risk them falling into the void when trying to leave, we bit the sour apple and allowed them to watch.
Which made the decision even harder, because now a part of their family was watching closely.
I let out a heavy sigh and glanced at Jesse. "What do you think will happen? Pietro gave me no working reply...", I asked quietly. He sighed and ruffled my hair, taking his seat beside me. Next to him would be Pietro, who hadn't yet arrived.
"Honestly, I'm not sure. This time he seems torn between two decisions, and I can't blame him for that. Either he punishes Hero and prevents any more horrible stuff from happening, or he let's him go to his family, prevent Red from breaking down, but almost ensure that this kill streak will continue. It's a choice I wouldn't take over for him, nor is it one that I'm glad he has to take. I feel sorry for him, this isn't how this was supposed to play out, he just wanted a calm life alone in his little house in Pride."
I slowly nodded, sighing. "Well, let's hope all will be well.", I mumbled as Pietro and the others finally came in, taking their seats with Pietro being the last to sit. He had two folders with paper with him, one for Hero and one for Jay.
He placed them down onto the table and glanced at Jay, clearing his throat. "Alright. Let us begin."
Jay seemed to get more and more nervous as Pietro spoke, uneasy.
I tried to reassure him with a soft smile, which he accepted and returned, but he was still very nervous.
I sighed a bit and glanced at Pietro before getting out my Grimoire and getting up. "I believe that there are a ton of differences between this judgement and the judgement of TWOR, correct?", I asked Jay.
He seemed to pause a bit at that, confused. "There are?"
"Here you will have to swear on the Grimoire that you won't lie. Additionally, you'll be put under a spell that immediately let's us know once you're lying. We're not allowed to put a spell on you that forces you to say the truth, but remember that we will find out at one point if you're being dishonest with us. The judgement here is significantly harsher, Pietro is capable of overruling us with a single vote, that is if he has a reason we cannot deny. He can decide if you live or die. Due to that, his choice is the very last, and with that usually the one that gets considered when we cannot choose. There's no lawyer, unless you request one. Since the only other person isn't here to be your lawyer however, that being your boyfriend/husband/fiance/significant other, your only choice is one of the audience. Herobrine does not count as a lawyer, as he is under trial as well.", I explained. Jay went a bit pale, but nodded and kept listening.
"Due to the fact that we are in a worrisome situation right now tho, we will go less rough."
He nodded again. I let him put down the oath and placed the spell onto him, before we started the whole trial. Herobrine closely watched from the door, eyeing us.
This felt really odd, I'm starting to get more and more scared about what's gonna happen.
And right before we got to the third question, it happened.
