Zach brought Tim over to the Kents' residence and as the boy was almost passed out, Connor took him to the spare room and they tucked Tim in so that he could get his much-needed sleep. He was too tired to go out with them so they decided not to tell him about their plans and just let him rest.

True, he would be furious to find out that he had been left at home when he would wake up but luckily, he would never cause a scene in front of Lois. He respected her far too much to cause any trouble while under her watch

Zach was intrigued to meet the family friend Kara had mentioned and he didn't have to wait long because as they stepped out, Kara and Mon were standing in wait.

Mon's light blue eyes assessed Zach completely, an emotionless look set on his face. Zach too observed him curiously and held his hand out first, "hi, I'm Zach. It's nice to meet you."

"Hi," he replied but his tone was stiff. It seemed as if he hadn't gotten used to communicating with strangers.

His eyes landed on the outstretched hand and he considered what to do. He knew the person in front of him was a human, like Lois, so he had to be cautious not to crush his bones if he shook the offered hand.

Therefore, he reluctantly gripped the offered hand as lightly as he could and then let go immediately after.

Zach found his behavior to be a bit odd but he let it slide since it was their first time meeting each other. "What's your name?"

"I'm... My name is..." His eyes locked with Connor who seemed to be silently prompting him, "uh... Mike Mathews."

Zach smiled politely, thinking that their family friend was probably an introvert and would take time to adjust around him.

As for Mon, he was feeling very awkward. Kara had cooked up a backstory for him and they had even given him a normal human identity he could use, hence the name Mike Mathews. She had made him rehearse it multiple times so that he wouldn't mess up when in the company of other humans.

But having to stick to that identity was already proving to be a lot more difficult than he had initially thought.

"Shall we leave?" Connor spoke up, tackling the situation, "I can't wait to take you guys everywhere."

"Sure sure," Kara agreed, "let's go."

Kara had gently taken Zach's arm as she led him out, both of them laughing as he was telling her about all Tim had said to him on the way there.

Mon-El didn't fail to notice that and his eyes lingered on Kara's hand gently resting on Zach's shoulder.

The two were comfortable with each other, anyone who saw them interact could easily see that.

Seeing them be close stirred up a foreign feeling in Mon's heart. And when he realized what that feeling was, he halted in shock.

Jealousy.

He was jealous of Zach. Or probably, he was jealous of the fact that he wouldn't be able to have a chance with Kara as Zach had already beaten him to it by swooping her off her feet first.

True, he was a Daxamite and falling for a Kryptonian would be among the top forbidden acts had he been on his planet, contrary to the current situation. But coming to Earth and experiencing how the people behind those prejudiced stereotypes painted to him by his fellows were really like, made him rethink everything he had been taught so far.
