Chapter 19.

The next day, Ny turns up. She hadn't been to the abortion clinic, she just needed some space. She was back at home with Lewis and Madison and they were all playing games together. Ny kept getting sharp pains in her stomach. She sat on the sofa and rubbed her stomach. Lewis went and sat next to her.

Lewis: Ny, you OK?

Ny: Yeah, just pains in my stomach.

Lewis: Do you want anything?

Ny: Nah I'll be fine.

Lewis: You sure?

Ny: Yeah.

Madison: Do you want a drink Mum?

Ny: Nah I'm fine babe.

Madison: OK then, I'm gonna get one.

Ny: OK.

Madison goes to get a drink and the pain in Ny's stomach goes away a bit. Lewis helps her to stand up a bit, so she can lie down. She stumbles into the bedroom and Lewis gets her a hot water bottle. She doesn't want any fuss, but he wants to look after her.

Ny: Oh for God's sake Lewis! I'm pregnant, not dying.

Lewis: Well excuse me for wanting to look after you! I won't fucking bother next time you ungrateful cow!

Ny: Oh shut up.

Lewis: Right well, if you want anything, get it yourself.

Ny: Fine.

Lewis leaves the bedroom and Ny tries to get some sleep. She's ignoring the pain she's in as she's tired. She wakes up a few hours later and goes to the bathroom. She gets a sharp pain and screams out. Lewis went out in temper so it's just Ny and Madison in the house.

Madison: Mum?

Ny: Get your Dad, Madison.

Madison: He went out.

Ny: Oh for God's sake!

Madison: What's happened?

Ny: I don't know, but there's blood everywhere as you can see.

Madison:What about the baby? Does this mean you've lost it?

Ny: I don't know Madison. I need to get to the hospital though. Pass me the phone for the ambulance.

Madison: I'll do it, what do I say?

Ny: That you need an ambulance for your Mum as she's bleeding and she thinks she's having a miscarriage. They'll ask you where you are, what my name is, how old I am, that sort of stuff. Tell me when they ask and I'll tell you the address, just try and stay calm OK?

Madison: OK Mum.

Madison phones for the ambulance, with Ny's help and they arrive ten minutes later. They take her to the hospital and she's told she has suffered a miscarriage. Ny puts it down to stress, because of Lewis and everything. She want to keep her in overnight. Madison uses her Ny's phone to ring Lewis to tell him what happened.

Madison: We're in the hospital and she lost the baby, Dad. Can you come up?

Lewis: Yeah, I'll be there soon Mads.

Madison: OK bye.

Madison hung up and Lewis turned up half an hour later. He knew it was partly his fault that she'd lost the baby. Ny told him to go.

Lewis: Please Ny.

Ny: No Lewis. Me and you are as good as over.

Lewis: Don't say that.
