The chime bells rang in every corner of the Epiphany Christian Academy, a sign that classes for the afternoon period are now over. When Professor Miriam heard the chime bells, she faced her students and she spoke.
“Alright, that’s all for today. Goodbye, class.”
“Goodbye, Professor Miriam, goodbye, classmates. See you tomorrow again.” They replied, their professor just nodded and left the classroom before they could.
Some students gathered at the bulletin board to check on their clubs’ activity and anything announced related to the school.
Leni then told her gossip.
Sara then sighed.
Sara Duterte is a member of the track and field club and so as Pia Cayetano. Both having the same height as five foot and three, they are one of the fast runners of the Epiphany Christian Academy together with their friend, Leni Gerona.
“Can’t you believe that we’re now on grade twelve? Sooner or later we’ll be beginning college.”
“Beats me, I haven’t really thought of college.
“Ikaw ba, Sara? Any plans?” tanong nito. Ngumiti naman si Sara at tumugon.
“I’m going to PMA to become a soldier.”
Parehong nagkatinginan sila Pia at Leni at kapuwa sila napahagikgik.
“Siya nga naman, and how you dress and act literally suits you to be a soldier.”
We have lot of time practicing today oh, tignan niyo’t hanggang alas siyete ang bukas nitong school.”
This idiot can’t still let what happened earlier slip. Sabagay, muka nga naman kasi ’tong clown eh.” Tawa nito, he pointed at Isko while laughing extravagantly.
He chased Ping once again.
After getting the key, Bongbong then opened the library and sat on a vacant table. This is what he had been doing this past years of his senior high school life. Being one of the official of the literature club took much of his time at the afternoon.
The library has always been quiet since the innovation of internet and media are far more popular than just finding out the answers on books.
Writing and reading books is his forte, the boy likes to do those things to tickle his mind. He’s currently working on his own novel aside of his club. Now, as the proofreader or the club, he checks the grammar and punctuation of the anthology drafts submission.
In the track and field club, the students are now warming up by jogging. After that, all of the members are then gathered and one by one, they run one hundred to five hundred meters based on their chosen category on the upcoming track and field tournament for the year.
“Ready, get set, go!” Kiko shouted as Leni ran on the wide football field.
“Don’t open your arms wide, Leni. Keep it close!” Cynthia Villar shouted, also one of the members and aces of the club.
“I know you can do faster, Leni! Set a new personal best!” Kiko once again encouraged his clubmate.
Francisco Pangilinan or better known as Kiko, is the president of the track and field club. A fast runner and gold medalist of the five hundred meter sprint tournament in every regional competition he joins, now a grade twelve student and a classmate of Sara, it is his last year at the club too.
“Oy, Kiko! May kailangan kang malaman, magandang balita ’to!” It was Aquilino Martin Pimentel III—commonly known as Koko, the club’s secretary.
“Ah, Koko? Anong balita?” he asked. Nakangiting saad niya.
“Their names are Robin, Lito, and Bong.”
“Pero Kiko, we need new members in this club or this club will be disbanded.” Napayuko ang binata.
“Fine, let them in. Para lang ma-save ang club na ’to. Kapag nakahanap tayo ng bagong recruits, we’ll disband them.”
“Fine, I’ll approve the join request.”
She ran as fast as she could, not minding the sweat falling from her forehead.
“I’m sure that for the last time, we’ll gonna get the gold, everyone.” Bulong niya at ngumiting muli.
