Two Weeks Later"James, don't do that, that's so mean," Tony said after taking a sip of his apple juice. Bucky just smiled more and laid his arms on the top of the booth.
"Come on! It'd be so funny," Bucky replied. Tony just rolled his eyes.
"It's his place. Don't do that. I know you two are attached to the hip, but let him have something of his own." Natasha nodded in agreement. Bucky, still smiling, rolled his eyes back.
"Nat, you just agree to that because you're scared I can take Angelica," Bucky then flexed an arm to prove a point. Tony made an exaggerated disgusted face, gaining a glare from Bucky. Natasha slapped his arm down back to the booth.
"Don't be gross. Angelica isn't someone you can take, she's a person."
"Okay! Okay, I won't apply for a job here, no need to gang up on me," Buky raised his arms in surrounded. Despite his words, you can tell how amused he was in his tone.
Steve came back around to drop off two milkshakes. Tony kept his eyes trained on his suddenly very entertaining apple juice.
"Oh, um, we didn't order those," Bruce spoke up in a small voice. Steve set down four straws.
"I know, they're on the house. From the manager. You guys are probably the only reason we're still in business." Tony wanted to scoff. You guys. Something about that made him slightly irritated. So now Tony was just one of the "guys"? Just another person in the group.
Well, cool. Steve can think like that. He wasn't even included in the "guys". So, technically, he's not even a part of the group. Take that, stupid Ken.
"Two milkshakes? There's four of us," Bucky asked as he opened a paper straw.
"Look, I said you guys keep us in business. You come once a week. We can barely afford this," everyone laughed at that. Well, everyone except Tony, who was still pretending not to listen. Steve only sparred him a glance.
They haven't talked about it since that time in the bathroom. They haven't really talked about anything at all. They were supposed to still be friends, right? But how are you supposed to be friends after that?
That night in the hotel room was so intimate. But maybe that had only happened because of what happened to Howard. A trauma response, a need for validation. Maybe it really did mean nothing.
Still, that didn't seem true.
But that was all in the past now. They've both been so mature about it. No need to break up a newly formed friend group because of a few almost hookups. Nothing needed to change. In fact, things were better now. Much, much better.
Speaking of Howard, he's been out of the hospital for a while now. As Carmel had said, it was only a slight concussion.
He hasn't brought it up to Tony at all which is surprising. Then again, he doesn't spend much time being in the same room as his father for more than five minutes. He's either up in his room or sleeping over at Bruces or Buckys nowadays.
"Aw, look. It's like we're on a double date," Bucky said with a smile once Steve left. Natasha squinted at him.
"Who's dating whom, then?"
"You're with tony, obviously," he replied back, making Nat and Bruce chuckle. Tony glared at the three of them.
"Excuse me, first of all, you would all be lucky to be with me. Second of all, I would definitely pick Natasha over you three, thank you very much." Tony stated matter-of-factly.
