Esme didn't know how long she was running for. All she knew was that by the time she stopped the sun had went down a long time ago and it was starting to storm. Esme was being arrested for assault and assault on an officer. Both charges could land her in prison for a long time. She didn't know what she was thinking when she attacked Shoupe, just that she didn't wanna go to jail. She wanted to spend time with Pope and not in a prison. But that option was out of the picture now and she had one of two choices.

Esme could either turn herself into the police and suffer the consequences, or she could remain on the run and get in even more trouble. She didn't want to leave Pope and her friends, and she felt selfish if she turned herself in to the cops without letting them know first.

And so Esme had a plan.

She would get the cops off her tail and then show up at Popes place to explain everything. Most of the pouges would be there figuring out how to get John B back safely so it would also be the perfect opportunity.

Problem was, cops were surrounded everywhere looking for Esme. It was only a matter of time before wanted posters were displayed everywhere.

So she needed to act fast.

The storm was getting worse and worse as Esme made her way over to Popes place. She swore she almost got struck by lightning but it hit a tree instead of her. It wasn't the best scenario but it was much better the tree then her.

All throughout the walk she was trying to figure out the right words to say. She didn't want to say the wrong thing and leave Pope confused and heartbroken, but she also thought if she said too much Pope would be pissed off at her for getting in trouble.

"Pope?" Esme asked knocking on his door. No one answered at first, so Esme knocked again. This time the door opened revealing Heyward, causing her eyes to widen.

"Esme, what're you doing here? It's storming." He mentioned and Esme just nodded.

"Y-Yeah I know. I'm looking for Pope. Is he here?" Heyward sighed and opened the door wider, allowing Esme to step in. She took off her shoes and soaked hoodie only leaving her in a t shirt and shorts.

"He's up in his room. Be careful though, he's been through a lot tonight."

"What does that mean?" Esme asked growing concerned. If something happened to Pope, all hell was about to break loose. Heyward just shook his head and pointed to Popes room upstairs.

Ok, now Esme was getting really scared.

"Pope?" Esme softly said knocking on his door. Pope immediately swung the door open and tackled Esme in a hug. Esme was caught off guard before she hugged back and kissed pretty much everywhere on his face.

"Stop leaving me!" Pope cried and Esme's bottom lip quivered as she started to cry more. She cupped his cheek and sniffled trying to compose herself.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." She whispered.
