*NEXT DAY AT 8:50pm*

Damon's POV

I make my way through the woods to the cemetery. I'm the last one to be there as usual. I see Liz setting up and Bonnie talking to her making sure she's ok. The caring one out of us. I roll my eyes and look around. I'm going to get Melanie back today. I'm so happy. I can't wait to hold her again.

Melanie's POV

I'm at the cemetery with everyone. I'm stood next to Damon smiling at him. I can see the happiness in his eyes. I look at Jeremy and Elena next to me and smile at them. We are one happy family. I'm going to get Damon back. Bonnie indicates me over and I speed over after telling Jeremy and Elena to stay put.

"What's wrong Bonnie?" I ask worriedly.

"We may have a little problem. You see... Only 2 people can be saved. There's 4 of you." I breathe out knowing what I have to do.

"I'll talk to Elena. I'll tell her that we have to save Luke and Jeremy. Don't tell them though till after." I say.

"I promise." she smiles weakly at me.

"Thanks Bonnie." I smile back and make my way to Elena. I drag her to the side and we discuss it and we agree to save the other 2. The spell starts and we let Jeremy go first. Once he is through to reality, Luke goes. He goes to his sister and she stops the spell and they disappear.

"Where's Melanie?" Damon asks.

"She made a choice Damon I'm sorry." She says looking down.

"Bonnie. What did she do?" Damon growls, fist clenching.

"We had a little problem. Only 2 people could be saved and there were 4 of them. I told Melanie this and said to save Jeremy and Luke. She didn't want me to tell you till it was over. I'm sorry." She explains. Damon's eyes tear up and he walks into the cemetery building place. He leans up against a barrier that is keeping the building together. He looks around and lets the tears fall.

"You lied to me. You promised that you would be here with me. You told Bonnie that there was a way for you to come back. You lied." He says more tears falling. I place my hand on his face. He gasps and looks around again.

"I'm sorry Damon. I didn't mean for it to finish like this. This side is collapsing and I'm going with it. Move on without me Damon. You can do it." I kiss his lips gently and walk out. I look at Bonnie and say,

"Tell Damon I love him and move on." She nods and makes her way to Damon. After a minute or 2, I hear Damon shout,

"No! I can't lose her Bonnie! She's my world! Please! I can't move on! I love her too much! Melanie!" I run into the room to see Damon in a corner, hugging his knees to his chest crying. He looks so broken.

"Bonnie? Repeat what I say to him. Please?" She nods and I continue,

"Damon. I love you and I always have. When you hurt me, it killed me inside. I knew that if I told you my decision to save Jeremy and Luke, I knew you would argue. I know you so well. Thank you for the best couple of years of my life. I love you so much. This side is collapsing and I'm going with it. I hope that you can forgive me before I leave Damon because I want to hear your voice one last time." Bonnie repeats.

"I forgive you Melanie." He whimpers. I smile. I walk out and hold hands with Elena.

"You ready Lena?" I ask.

"Yeah. Are you?" She replies.

"No. I don't want to leave Damon but I have no choice." A bright light appears and sucks us in. I love everyone so much.
