Mel's POV
I wake up groaning as the sun shines on my face. I look to my right and see Little Damon there with a smile on his awake face.
"Mommy! Me wanna see daddy!" He says. I reply,
"Ok. We can go once we say goodbye to grandpa and grandma ok?" He nods and we make our way downstairs where mum and dad were eating.
"Hi mum. Hey dad." I say. They turn and wave.
"Hi hun. You're awake late." Mum says. I frown and say,
"What do you mean?"
"It's 1 in the afternoon." I look at them wide eyed.
"Oh. Ok. Urm. Is it ok if I go back home? Damon here wants to see daddy." I ask sheepishly.
"Sure hun. We'll see you next time."
"Bye mum. Bye dad." I say walking out. I sigh with a smile on my face.
"Ready to see daddy, Damon?" He nods and smiles widely at me making me chuckle a little. I call a taxi and once it's arrived, we get in and I tell the driver to take us to the Boarding House. Once we are there, I pay the driver, grab Little Damon and make my way in as silent as I could. I see Damon in the living room and I smile at him but frown when I see him drinking bourbon. I sigh and he turns to me. He quickly puts the drink down and gives us a hug. Little Damon hugs back but I don't. He pulls back and frowns.
"Are you ok?" He asks.
"No. Hey Damon. Go upstairs into your dad's room and watch TV but here's my phone if you get bored." I say to Little Damon. I put him down and pass him my phone. He runs upstairs while giggling. Once I hear him enter Damon's room, I spell the room so he can't hear us. I turn back to Damon and sigh.
"What's wrong?" He asks. I look at him in disbelief.
"What's wrong?! I told you that you need to sort yourself out!" I shout.
"Sort myself out?! I can do whatever I want Melanie! You don't control me!" He shouts back.
"You can't be a good father when you're getting drunk!" I yell back angry and annoyed.
"Don't tell me how to be a good father!" He yells back annoyed.
"I knew we shouldn't have came back!" I yell with tears running down my cheeks. I shake my head and go to run upstairs but Damon stands in my way.
"Melanie. I'm sorry." He says caressing my cheek. I flinch away and he holds hurt in his eyes.
"I'll stop drinking just please don't leave me." He begs. I sigh and nod.
"One chance Damon. That's it." I say. He nods and goes to hug me but I flinch. Why am I flinching a lot lately?
"Why are you flinching away from me?" He asks. I look at him and see the hurt. I can't handle it. I take that chance and run around him and upstairs. I go into his room and sit with Little Damon who is on my phone. He looks at me and kisses my cheek.
"Hi Mommy. Are you ok?" He asks.
"Yeah. I'm fine." I say smiling fakely.
"But you been crying. Why?" He asks concerned.
"It's fine Damon. I just had a memory flashback." He nods and carries on playing.
"Are you hungry, darling?" I ask. He nods and gives me my phone. I put it in my pocket and pick him up. I stand up and face the door seeing Damon there.
"Please move out the way." I ask. He sighs and moves. I make my way out the room and into the kitchen. I make him some pancakes and he eats them slowly. I see Damon in the frame. I sigh and look at Little Damon.
"Hey kiddo. Daddy is going to look after you for a while. I'm going out for a bit ok?" He nods and I look at Damon. I sigh again and walk out. I grab my motorcycle keys. Before I open the door, someone turns me around. I look up and see Damon.
"Where are you going?" He asks looking me in the eyes.
"Somewhere. Please Damon. Let me go." I say quietly.
"Where Melanie?" He asks. I get out of his grip and say,
"I'll be back in a bit." I walk out and get on my motorcycle. I rev the engine and make my way to the Grill. I enter the Grill and see the gang there. They look at me and indicate me over.
"Hey Mel. You ok?" Bonnie asks.
"Yeah. Just... Damon isn't trying hard enough. I seriously regret coming back." I sigh.
"I'll sort him out for you, Melanie. Don't worry about it." Stefan says. I look at him and smile thankful.
"Thanks Stef. Can someone come with me back to see Damon and Little Damon?" I ask scared of what Damon might do when I get back if I'm on my own.
"Yeah. Sure. I'll come with you." Jeremy says.
"Thanks." I smile at him. We make our way out and I get on my motorcycle. He gets on the back and I rev the engine taking off. Once we reach the Boarding House, Jer immediately gets off.
"I an never riding on that again with you." He says. I laugh and we make our way in. I see the 2 Damon's sat on the couch having a laugh. I smile at the sight.
"Hey kiddo. Your uncle Jer is here." He squeals and Jeremy takes him out the room. i look at Damon and say,
"You wanted to talk. Lets talk." I sit on the couch next to him.
"Look. I know that I haven't been the greatest father to our child but I wasn't there in the first 3 years. But I'm going to start trying ok? I want us to be a happy family. Please." I sigh and nod.
"Fine. One chance. No drinking. No killing." I say sternly. He smiles and kisses me and I happily kiss back.
"I love you Melanie." He says when we pull back.
"I love you too. but I'm going bed. Don't let the little kiddo stay up too late ok?" I say sternly.
"Ok. You're a great mother Melanie. You have grown up fast just for little Damon. I wish I was there before." He says.
"It's fine. You're here now that's all that matters. Night Damon." I kiss him quickly and walk upstairs. I go into Damon's room and lie on his bed. I fall asleep to the sound of Little Damon giggling.
