Gemma gulped, and tried to reply. A stutter was present-but she closed her wavering lips, and biting them in response.
Her thoughts were nothing,Fear, coursing through her. Lust, pure desire, now diminished, extinguished, a fleeting memory- that was rapidly fading. By the fact of the man before her.
Viserys stood.
His question that slid off his most desirable lips, had undoubtedly caught her off guard. Her body stunted, unmoving, unwilling to cooperate with her less then empty thoughts.
He didn't like what he saw, not at all, it wasn't his attention to traumatize the girl. He felt somewhat connected to her.
'How does he know?' Gemma, inwardly thought. Her hands lightly shaking along with her body.
She was still recovering as he spoke again. His voice having a loud bravado running through it.
"You're are a Siren, Gemma. Aren't you?" Viserys pushed again.
But all she could hear was a defeating silence, clouded by a loud ringing noise that was the main sound in her ears. Like a gun-shot that was just fired at point-blank. No matter what she thought she couldn't answer.
It was like if she accepted it, it would be the same as the rest. She would have to depart from him just like her sister, Harper. Alex... The guy that had been her first crush, let alone he was the first boy she had kissed. In this moment, however, Alex was a spec and this man was more important. For some reason that she couldn't place. Her features showed the truth, while her mind suggested lies to speak.
"How did you know?" Gemma voiced. Her voice nothing more- but a mere whisper.
"So-you are one?" Viserys stated, his eyes having a determined glint upon them.
"Dammit, Viserys answer my question!" Gemma shouted. Her inner Siren becoming a reckless monster that she was barely able to contain.
"I can't tell you...But, my family has belonged to a group lasting for over countless centuries. That is all I can say about it, though. "
"What kind of group?" Gemma questioned, containing a snarl that wanted to unleash. Unbidden, and unseen to Gemma, her eyes glowed a dim golden hue.
"Easy, Gemma... Calm yourself-your eyes are showing. "Gemma blinked, and her eyes reverted back. Along with a calm-but still emotional, and a physically drained Gemma. "It's not a group, exactly, but a certain family that knows things about your kind. "
"My kind" Gemma added.
"Sirens. " He expressed.
He took a step toward Gemma, but Gemma took a step back. Continuing this until they found themselves in a familiar position to the both of them. With Gemma's back against a brick wall, and his arms on either side of her. Trapping, capturing her within his embrace.
"Gemma, you don't ever had to be afraid. There are far more scarier things out there. I knew about Sirens even when you walked into the club.
"I have to go." Viserys loosened enough to allow Gemma to sidestep him, she slowly walked away. Turning her head, making her hair go from one side to the other, just the slightest-only to see that he had disappeared.
When Gemma arrived home. Lights were out, and to her relief no one was home, guessing the girls were still out. Gemma could only imagine if the other Sirens were here. Gemma took her keys, and purse and laid them on-top of the counter. While taking her jacket off and setting it on a hook near the barren wall.
'What a night' she thought.
Making her way up to her bedroom. Pulling the knob, only to be with a cool breeze from the open window. Viserys had made a big impression on her, Gemma didn't like the feelings that she felt for him. Thinking to herself, the kiss was a mistake. Only a mistake-it just had to be.
She plopped down onto the bed, her eyes closing. While her thoughts turned into dreams. Dreams weren't real, no matter how she wanted them to be a reality.
