Author's note: So I want to say thanks for the continuous reviews and votes for the story. I really appreciate it a lot. This chapter is short, but at least it's something, right? Hope you enjoy, and let me know what you think.
Cool breezes drifted by...
Gemma sighed...Floating upon the waveless water.
Back stroking for fun, rays of sun reflecting off the water. Allowing Gemma to close her eyes and bask in the sunlight.
Penn, Lexi and Thea trusted her, now that she had followed them into this life;and now she found herself in the middle of the ocean along the borders of Australia.
Who would have guessed that Gemma would traveled beyond the little town of Capri, Maine?
Gemma was still getting used to life in a new country.
But it felt freeing-added being a siren into the mix. Gemma could really say that she was happy.
Minus the petty drama moments that Penn and Lexi had for what seemed like every 5 minutes of the day.
Being alone like now really did help.
This is what Gemma missed. Even before she was a siren.
She remembered having the time of her life on the swim team, her whole life revolved around water.
Gemma could spend hours upon hours in the water, and the Watersong would never fully go away. Even if sated, it didn't take long before the hunger rose up again.
It had been days since they had arrived, and days since Gemma had last fed.
She thought it was going to be easier, but then quickly realized that it wouldn't ever be easy taking life.
This life was forced upon her, but a life she was committed to have. She couldn't start looking at regrets now.
There were too many and that could ultimately destroy her...
Once Gemma declared something and stuck to it it was hard not to fight it.
So naturally when a spec in the distance came closer she realized it was a ship.
Her throat caught, and the Watersong ignited. There was no Penn, Lexi or even Thea. Not like they would lift a hand to help her out. They would rather join in, then not do anything at all.
The ship was closer, and she could hear the soft voices of conversation among the ship.
As if it was instinct her voice carried over the waters. Attracting attention from the men among board. The ocean swayed to her song, rocking the ship back and forth. Gemma had increased her song to the point the men were falling overboard, the ship destroyed. The lives of many were no more.
Gemma was at a stopping point, her eyes widened.
Yes... It's not easy. Taking lives is not easy. But this was the life she had chosen.
