My eyelids were still heavy, but I tried my best to open them. Starting with my left eye. I knew it was already morning but my room's dark 'cause of heavy curtains, so I have no idea what time it was. I'm in no panic though. I'm actually excited today. I checked my phone to know the time, almost 10am. Not bad. Probably one of the most peaceful sleeps I've had in a while.

I sat on my bed and stretched out my arms before I fully stood up and went to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I wore my pajamas before preparing anything since it was getting cold despite Mr. Sun shining all up in the sky.

Today's a perfect day for a Taylor Swift album. I thought while browsing my vinyls. I haven't had much time listening to music since I got too involved in this college week and academic requirements. I was staring into nothingness until the album was playing Red, and that's when I only moved to the kitchen to prepare my coffee.

The song was getting upbeat and so was my mood. I sat on the chair near the counter table while singing the lyrics to Taylor's Message in a bottle. This is what I was excited about, today's a free day for me. No subjects, no meetings, free from requirements. I don't get to do this often, so I really wanted to get the best out of it. I have it all planned out actually, I'll be staying at my apartment all day, listening to music I have missed for the past few weeks. I thought of playing video games, too. Nonetheless, today shall be spent only with music and...

Hey, where did I put my phone?

I was talking to myself since it has been ringing nonstop. I actually wondered if it was my alarm, but I was sure I didn't set any before I went to sleep the night before.

There it is! Now, who could this be?

The number wasn't registered. I was hesitant to pick it up. For some reason, I get anxious on unregistered numbers calling me, they could've messaged first before calling. Simple courtesy.

I didn't want to spoil my day so I just answered it.

"LISA! I've been trying to reach you since this morning! How come you aren't picking up? Don't tell me you just woke up? Don't you have class today?"

I took the phone away from my ear and checked if the caller wasn't my mom because it sounded like her. And how dare this person question the time I wake up.

"Uhm, excuse me, who is this, please?" I spoke before the person from the other line could speak again. I tried my best to be as polite as I could.

"Huh? Rosie, are you sure this is Lisa's number?" I heard the stranger say. Could it be the same Rosie I know? I heard garbled answers that I couldn't understand.

"Hello? Are you still there?" I spoke again.

"Lisa, it's Jennie." with heavy emphasis on her name.

"What the hell, Jennie! You almost tore my eardrum! How can you yell over the phone early in the morning?"

"Lisa, first and foremost, I wasn't yelling. It's noisy here in the university, as you know. And second, it's no longer morning. It's almost lunch time. Did you just wake up?"

"Kind of. What's up? Why did you call? Is this about Seulgi?"

"No, why would I call about her when I can just message her? Anyway, the research. Do you have plans of doing it together?'

"Isn't it too early to do that?"

"Too early, she said. We only got three weeks before the deadline and we haven't started anything!"

"Then let's do it tomorrow!"

"Nope, can't. I have rehearsals tomorrow. I'm actually free now. Why don't we meet up? Where you at?"
