LISA'S POV

If you ask my friends what a night person is, they'll immediately point at me. And I'll explain to you that I prefer to do errands later in the day, at least not earlier than 10 am. Unless there are very, very important tasks to be done early in the morning, I schedule most in the afternoon. Classes, org meetings, hanging out with my friends, name it! So I also wondered to myself what I was doing in front of Jennie's yard at 7 in the morning on a Monday. I was contemplating whether I should knock on her door 'cause I might wake them up, or if I should just wait for them at the university.

I am here anyway. How about the effort I put in waking up very early!

I thought hard while walking up to her door, but decided to go with my instinct and assumed that they were both probably up already. True enough, voices can be heard inside the house. I knocked on the door thrice before it was opened and I was welcomed by Jennie with eyes almost still shut, disheveled hair, and wearing a pair of pajamas with Forky designs on it.

I didn't know if I should feel ashamed of coming here this early or if I can stifle a laugh realizing she might love Toy Story, too. We looked each other in the eye, well I'm seeing more of her eyelids since she couldn't properly open her eyes, but nobody spoke. I think we were both surprised to see each other.

"Who's that Jennie?" a dried, husky voice asked, whom I assumed was Chaeng.

"Good morning?" I was unsure of what to say since Jennie had not seemed to recognize me, still.

Suddenly, Rosé was already beside Jennie. "Oh. Lisa. What are you doing here?"

"Uh... for coffee?" Jennie's eyes were now wide open after scratching it multiple times. But gave me a poker face.

"We better get inside. I'm freezing already." Chaeng opened the door to invite me in.

"Thanks. Thought of the same, too." I said as they turned their backs and I slowly closed the door behind me. Chaeng went straight to the couch and dozed off again while Jennie went to the kitchen.

"Isn't this too far to have a coffee, Lisa?" Jennie finally spoke. "Thought you live near the coffee shop." She then poured the newly brewed coffee to three cups on top of the counter table.

She placed one cup on the side table for Chaeng, while she put the other on top of the wooden table near the patio. She went back to the kitchen to get the last cup and sat on one of the stools. I supposed that the other cup was for me so I followed her and sat across from her.

After taking a sip, she tied her hair up and asked me, "I thought you weren't a morning person, Ms. Manoban."

"You have a lot of thoughts, Ms. Kim." I answered .

"Let's cut to the chase, why are you here this early?"

The bell of the toaster rang. She was supposed to get it but Chaeng stood up, "I got it!" so she went back to her seat.

I took out my phone and pressed send. A loud message tone was heard across the room. Jennie checked her phone and squinted her eyes at me. "Yeah, I already sent you the copy of the last chapter." I said proudly.

"You could've sent it without going here. And wait, do you expect me to print it all out? You know we needed hard copies, too, Lisa!"

I pulled out a document from my bag and showed it to her. "Thought you'll say that."

"We need-" But before she could finish, I handed out another envelope from my bag.

"Yep, got another copy here!!"
