JENNIE's POV
Seulgi and I had planned to do the consequence of the dare from the last time we went out together. We were supposed to do it on a Sunday but she had an urgent training so we both agreed to have it on Saturday instead.
We often talk through messages or quick calls. Seulgi's kind of busy with training and academics, which I had come to understand. I used to always ask why she's not often around. How can we get to know more about each other if we don't get to spend time together? You know what I mean? But I realized she has a lot of things going on. She makes it up by constantly checking on me, asking me how my day was, and even surprises which she didn't fail the last time we went on a date.
So now, I'm keeping my part of the deal - preparing a meal for us. I thought of doing a Kimchi fried rice which I am best at (according to Rosie. And her taste buds wouldn't fail you. I promise.), but I want to try something different tonight. I decided to make a steak with potato skillet. I even went to the grocery store and got a red wine to complete tonight's meall. Seulgi said she'll be in my house at 7 pm. And knowing her, she's often on time.
I was done with the potato skillet when Rosie came out of her room, dressed up.
"Wow, are those potatoes?" She asked, after leaning on the countertable beside the kitchen.
"Yep! Can you taste one for me?"
She immediately took one using a fork, "Mmmm."
"So? Is it good or...? What do you think?"
"I think I will never leave this house or wherever you will go, Jennie. This is good!"
"Thanks!" I gave her a wide smile. I feel proud of my dish now that my best friend complimented it. The only confirmation I needed when it comes to cooking.
"Where are you headed to?" I asked her while fixing the kitchen tools and putting them in the sink.
"Well, Seulgi's coming over, I thought I'd give you some privacy. So, Jisoo and I will be catching up on a movie." She answered. She took a seat in the chair and watched me while I was washing the utensils.
"You guys never get tired of each other? Never ran out of things to talk about? You were together 'till dawn this morning!"
"Aw. Don't be jealous, babe! You know you're still my first love!"
My forehead had probably creased on its own. "So..." But I decided not to push it. "Nevermind."
I almost forgot my best friend has not come out yet. And I remember Lisa telling me I cannot just assume in that area, nor that I can out anyone. So I tried my best to keep my mouth shut.
I heard Rosie whisper compliments of how the steak looked so tender. "You can come home anytime. You and Jisoo and join us, you know."
"Hmm. I don't think so. I don't wanna ruin anything about tonight. But save some for me, please?"
"Of course!" I answered cheerfully.
There was a knock on the door and Rosie suddenly sat up straight, "coming!" But instead, she took her pocket mirror from her bag and looked at herself, before actually standing up to get the door.
I was on the other side of the kitchen creating the sauce for the steak when I heard Jisoo greeted me.
"Hey there Jennie! Wow, the food smells good!"
"Hey Jisoo! Aren't you going to come in?" I asked since she was just standing outside the door waiting for Rosie who went back to her room.
"Don't you think we should stay instead?" Jisoo asked my best friend as soon as she saw her towards the door.
