Third person's POV
Jennie's class was already doing their warm-ups when they arrived in the auditorium. So, she and Chaeng quickly put down their bags and started stretching.
"You know Seulgi just wants to take you out, right? When I worked with Lisa, I never saw her opened a book or reviewed for an exam. She always passes though - Stock knowledge, she says" Chaeng whispered to Jennie while helping each other with the stretching.
"Yeah, and she isn't subtle about it. Though I was surprised she was outside our last class. Then she mentioned Lisa. So, that gives. Chaeng, stop moving too much! I can't stretch out properly."
"Oh, sorry. I just remembered Seulgi's face when you said you can't join her. It literally dropped!"
The trainer went in front and started discussing what the class is about to do.
"Ok everyone, we won't have much time to practice since you have different schedules so I suggest to do it twice a week. We'll be dancing to a medley. I have already prepared the mix, okay? Right, let's start with the intro.
Are you guys good? We won't practice the blocking first, important is to get the routines, okay? Alright lets start. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4." The instructor looks at them before repeating the steps.
"Okay again. Step to the left, swing arm to the right, and 3 and 4... 5,6,7,8. Got it? Okay from top."
Jennie doesn't dance. Unless you count the yearly presentation she had to do back in elementary for the annual fair, which was also a requirement... But this is 50% of her finals grade on one of the her major subjects - you ask why? her prof's the dean of the course she's enrolled in. She actually asked to be part of the committee instead, but its all taken. Now, she's stressing herself out to get every routine perf- correctly.
About 30mins of practicing, the trainer called for a break.
"Alright guys, 10 minute break, then we'll practice from the top. Oh, and uhm, anyone here named Jennie?"
Confused, Jennie slowly raised her hand.
"Someone's looking for you outside. We only have 10 mins. Don't take too long." to which Jennie answered, "Yes, sir."
Jennie went outside the auditorium and found a girl sitting by the staircase with her headphones on. Surprise was evident on her face but she still walked towards the person.
"Li-Lisa? Lisa. Hey, Lisa!" The other girl was surprised to see her as well and stood up.
"Oh, you're here already. Sorry, I was watching something and I lost track of time. I was actually too shy to ask your trainer, he seems strict but good thing I saw Yeri and I asked her to ask your trainer..."
Lisa stopped talking when she realized she just kept blabbing.
"Uhm, I'm speaking too much,am I not?" Lisa asked without noticing her right hand holding her right earlobe.
Jennie hesitantly nodded and they both let out a small laugh.
"I just went here for these. Seulgi couldn't give these in person since she has to accompany our friend. So, she asked me to bring this to you. Here." She handed Jennie two bottles of water.
After giving the bag, she started walking while putting her headphones back on.
"I'll go ahead, Jennie. Just message Seulgi, okay? Oh, and don't stress yourself too much on dancing! You're doing fine!"
Lisa's words were fading and echoing while she was walking away from Jennie. The latter realized she was not able to speak a word. Aside from the fact that she was surprised to see Lisa, of all people, is it really obvious that she's stressed while practicing?
"Thanks, I guess."
Jennie went back inside and sat beside Rosie, she handed her a bottle of water.
"Who was that?" Chaeng asked curiously as she drinks from the bottle.
"Lisa." Chaeng almost spit the water to my face as soon as she heard the name.
"What the heck, Rosie!"
"Lisa? Manoban Lisa? She gave this to you? But-"
"Yeah, 'cause Seulgi was out with their friend so she asked Lisa to bring these." Jennie answered after drinking from her own bottle.
"Aww, I think that's really sweet."
"Yeah, I think so, too. It's cute actually. I'm just not sure if I swing that way, you know."
"Right. And someone might get mad."
"Huh? Who would? Does Seulgi have a girlfriend?"
"Huh? You forgot about Josh? How is he anyway? Haven't seen him since that ktv night last week. He usually follows you wherever you go."
"I don't know. We no longer talk."
A bit surprised, Chaeng asked,
"Really? what happened? You said he's okay. And he seems like it."
"Meh. It's always dull whenever we go out. He's a nice person, yeah. But, nah. Not for me."
Chaeng, obviously being careful on the words she's about to say, "Not about..."
"No. Let's not go there, Chaeng."
"Right, oh! I almost forgot, Wendy asked us to go with her to do a group study for the upcoming oral exams next week."
If there's one thing she loves about her best friend, its that she does not push the subject when Jennie's not ready.
"Rosie, we both know we'll just end up chatting and watching a Disney movie once we get there. I can't, I have a research paper to complete. Remember Seulgi's words? Chapters 3 and 4!"
Rosie tried to plead Jennie, "Oh c'mon, it would be more fun if its us three!"
"Sorry, babe. Let's just have a girls' night out after the exams. Won't be going home next week!"
"Can you really resist your best-est friend in the universe?" This girl will bring up the best friend card whenever she can.
"Excuse me, girls? Care to share what you have been discussing?"
Both of them didn't notice that the trainer is already teaching the blocking for the routines.
"Sorry, sir."
The whole class repeated the routines until they got it right. Jennie still trying to keep up with every step, and Chaeng whispering the lyrics as she tries to memorize everything in her head.
I wanna go home. And Jennie's bed is all she could ever think about.
