LISA POV
If I were to be honest, I wanted a long hot bath while listening to Taylor's Album, or Maroon 5's. But when I looked at Somi's eyes, it speaks a bit of uncertainty, but full of hope. Petty as it may seem, but I feel like this is a make or break between me and Somi. If I accept the invitation, it could lead to something else, a potential relationship. And if I reject this, if I postpone this, then that's the end of it. It would hardly matter if it's the latter, we haven't built up a strong foundation to consider yet. But I guess that's the interesting part. Or am I thinking too much ahead?
I realized I have been staring at her for some minutes now. Somi just kept her head down. She took a glance at me and looked down again.
"Sure, Somi." I finally answered.
"Great! Let's get in the car then. I know a place in the city where we can chill." She continued walking, almost leaping when I called her again.
"Don't you think we should take the cab instead?"
"Huh? Why?" She asked with a confused look.
"Uhm... Don't drink and drive? Does it ring a bell?" I wonder if Somi often drinks and drives but I can't tolerate that.
"Oh, of course. Don't worry Lisa, I don't drive under the influence." She gave me a reassuring smile as I walked closer to her.
Somi stopped by a black SUV and knocked on the door. I heard a click and she proceeded to the backseat of the car. Before entering, she was waiting for me to follow her. I got inside and saw a man dressed in a black coat in the driver's seat. Somi went in and spoke to the man,
"Ahjussi, let's go to the city please. At Brick's." The man just nodded and started the engine. He immediately took a turn to exit the university. I was still confused about what's happening when Seulgi caught my eye standing by her car. Not from a far was a girl walking, smiling towards her, Jennie. Seulgi's eyes were all lit up. I was about to put the window down but chose not to. It might ruin their moment. Instead, I just turned to Somi to ask who the man is.
"Oh. How rude of me? Ahjussi, this is my friend, Lisa. Lisa this is Mr. Choi. He's been with the family since I was a kid. My father decided to have him as my driver for occasions like this."
"Good evening, Mr. Choi." I greeted him and he nodded through the rearview mirror.
"What are you in a mood for right now, Lisa?"
Long hot bath.
"Not really in the mood to party tonight. I'm afraid my muscles will get sore after what we did in the auditorium."
I saw Mr. Choi looking at Somi from the rearview mirror. Somi laughed it off and just shrugged her shoulders. "She meant dancing, ahjussi." the man went back to focus on the road.
Though a little confused, I ignored it. Somi and I chatted for at least 20 minutes before the car stopped in a driveway. I looked around and saw a bar with opened doors. Somi went down and I followed her.
THIRD PERSON POV
Brick's gives a vibe of chill and good music. Unlike in clubs where almost all lights are out, this one's all lit up. Just enough to set the customers in the mood – to drink, to chat, to have fun.
Somi led Lisa to the bar table where they sat side by side. Lisa's eyes kept roaming around. Looking at the people around them. "What are you having, Lisa?" The girl didn't notice the bartender was already in front of them waiting for their order.
"Uhm, whiskey. And water please." Lisa answered as if her mind was made up as soon as
"I'll have the same, Mark. Thank you."
