Once, our country was composed of just an island. However, even if the domain was just a single island, there were two rulers. The one in the north called himself King, and the other in the south was called Datu.

They were both given the power manipulate the weather. They have a fair share in the time of the year for their favorite weather.

The King of the North was very fond of cold weather, since the land's cannot produce snow, he instead wants the rain all the time.

The Datu in the south enjoys the sun so much that his bahay kubo was built near sea shore so he can enjoy the sun and the beach.

The King, controlled the rain clouds and the Datu projected an eternal summer.

The Datu's eternal summer is affecting the King's rain clouds, it lessens their number. In King's fury, he covered the whole land with rain clouds covering the sun that Datu's obsessively adored.

The whole land was wet and the Datu was very much annoyed. In his rage, he melted all the rain clouds making the temperature as hot as it was exposed to the sun's fury.

They repeated the power trip over the weather and change it according to their will. The land went from dry to wet to dry to wet, up until it was exhausted and cracks. It separated the whole land into more than seven thousand islands.

The turmoil in the weather created physical disturbances: the trees died, the river overflows, the animal got killed, and there were numerous earthquakes. Then, it came to a time that there was no food to eat and people died of flu. The land that once alive and beautiful became dry and dead.

The Datu's son, Niño, requested to his father to stop the madness. The King's daughter, Niña wanted to have a normal weather cycle again. They begged their father's to stop selfishly manipulating the weather.

The Datu and the King decided to marry their son and daughter to ensure the land will be peaceful and that the weather will be evenly spread to their land.

Niña and Niño resides at the north, where they can rule the land and makes sure that the weather is favorable to everyone. The Datu remained to the south, where he can enjoy the sun and the beach. And the King, moved to the adjacent island, in the middle of the north and the south where he patiently waiting for the rain to come.

Niña and Niño's first born was adoringly bright as the sun and her skin shines to the slightest touch of light. To their delight, they named her Summer and two full moons of the year was given to her as a gift. Luckily, Summer take part of her grandfather's adoration of hot weather and loves the sun with all her heart, so in that two full moons' time, you can strongly feel her presence and will surely perspire a lot.
