It's okay to let yourself feel everything you are feeling.

I have always been cautious of the people I hang around with, not because I don't trust, believe me, I don't, but because both my mother and giagiá always told me to be wary of the people that wanted to meet me... I didn't understand before, but now I do, after all, I am a long lost princess of a mythical world...

"Liber," Kais spoke. "I want you to meet Andrew, Nathaniel's brother, and Astra, my mate,"

"Holy guacamole!" Liber exclaimed and turned towards Andrew. "You are so big! I remember when we were younger and we would play! I am so happy that you are back here with your brother! He became such a moody person when he lost you," He sighed and Nathaniel growled rolling his eyes. "And you," He turned to me. "My grandpa used to tell storied about your family, and he described you as the light at the end of the tunnel, he was smitten with you, and damn I know why," He winked at me causing both Andrew and Kais to growl.

I rolled my eyes. "It's nice meeting you," I replied. "Is your pappoús still around?" Liber gave me a quick nod. "Would it be possible that I could have a word with him?" I saw Kais was about to speak. "Don't even bother and try to tell me no, I know that mates are supposed to do whatever the other says, but I don't work like that. This is the only person I have ever known who knows my family! I need answers, and you are not going to give them to me!"

Andrew let out a sigh and turned towards Kais. "I know or I am trying to understand how this werewolf mate stuff works, but you also have to understand that we have been thrown into a world we thought only happened in books," I rubbed my face and cracked my neck, this was too much. "So let Astra do what she believes is the best for her, believe me, she has survived alone for so long, you getting into her business, is not going to help,"

I scoffed. "I am right here chazós," I mumbled. "I have to learn a lot okay, I know that, but just understand that for me to learn about your world, my world, whatever, I need to have closure. I need to know about my family," I sighed and turned to Kais. "Give me two days, and then we can work with whatever we have to, and how to deal with the threat that we have, but I just need two days to adjust and learn,"

Kais gave me a small nod and then I saw how he communicated with Nathaniel and Liber through his mind link, I do recall reading about that, and also that his eyes unfocus...

Nathaniel whispered something to Andrew and they both left the room, Liber waved me with his fingers and left me alone with Kais. I grumbled and gave an exasperated look to him, what does he want.

"Listen to me," Kais whispered. "Please, I promise that I will give you the space you need, but I need you to understand some things beforehand," I gave him a quick nod. "I am an Alpha, werewolves are territorial and protective by nature, we don't like to share, but being an Alpha doubles that. That is the reason as to why I don't like when Andrew or anyone near you, especially when I know that you are in danger, and when you are not bearing my mark,"

I frowned. "Your mark? What are you talking about?" Kais licked his lips. "Are you going to explain that? Or are you just going to try to make me understand why you have an obsession with growling when someone comes near me?"

Kais chuckled and I felt tingles on my body. "When you find your mate, you feel the sparks and the smell and many other things right?" I nodded and he smiled. "After that, there are some steps to follow, bearing the mark is the first, basically is bitting into your mate's neck," I shivered, what the hell? "Next is to complete the mating process, and you know," He blushed. "Become one,"

"Uh," I gulped and felt myself blushing. "So only you bite me?" He shook his head. "I have to do it as well? But umm, I don't have fangs you know, I am not a wolf,"

Kais chuckled and grabbed my hand, making me gasp. "You have a wolf, it is just hidden away," I frowned. "I will explain that later, right now, I just need for you to understand, that I will try to give you your space, but I need to be near you, so please, just let me be near you, just enough to smell your scent so that myself and my wolf are calmed,"

I bit my lips and gave him a small nod. I wasn't comfortable with that, but I also knew that I had to get out of my comfort zone with everything that was going to be thrown at me...

I licked my lips as I stared at the small kids playing around the park, smiling at their brothers and sisters and parents. It was nostalgic to think that I could have that life back in Greece, but everything was taken away by hunters, and ironically we landed in the same place as those who took away everything.

After the conversation I had with Mr Chloros, I did not get the closure I wanted, but I did understand several things that my giagiá and my mother used to talk about.

I could sense and smell him before he even stepped next to me, I could sense his hesitation, but he grabbed my hand, causing me to turn.

"Was it a good talk?" He questioned and I raised my eyebrow. "I mean, did you learn what you needed?" I shrugged and stepped closer to him and he blinked in surprise.

"I, uhm," I stared at the scene in front of me. "It made me understand some things," I whispered. "I still have to go through the stuff my giagiá and my mom had," I squeezed his hand. "Maybe that way, I can get the closure I need,"

Kais rubbed his thumb across my hand. "If you need someone to keep you company, I understand that you have Andrew, but I just want you to know that I am here for you too, no matter what, I'll always be here for you,"

"Thank you," I whispered. "But I do want to do this part alone, this is my family we are talking about, my history, and even when I know that it is important for the werewolf community and stuff, I want to keep it to myself until I finally understand it fully,"

"No one is expecting you to share your secrets," Kais spoke. "Maybe only I am, but don't worry, no one is going to push you to talk until you are ready,"

"I appreciate that really," I spoke and got away from him. "I will start right now, I did ask you for two days, and I don't want to take any longer, your pack might be in danger and I want to be prepared to help out and defeat the hunters,"

Kais gave me a small smile and as I turned to walk away, I heard him whisper. "Our pack adelfí psychí, ours,"
