Why do we know, but act like we don't?

I groaned as I slowly came back to my senses. I tried to move, but something was wrong with me. Slowly opening my eyes, I became aware that everything was heightened. I could hear the buzzing from the lights above me, I could hear how the phone rang outside where I was. I could basically hear everything and not only that. As I blinked I could see the pores on the ceiling, the small unpainted corners of the walls, heck! I could even read the instructions on the medicine bottle that was by the door.

Wait... medicine bottle by the door... Just perfect, I am on a gamiméno nosokomeío. How on earth did I end up here, in a hospital... what the heck happened?

Gosh, now it makes sense as to why it smelled so strong of disinfectant and sterilize things... I think my brain is just not working properly...

"HI?" I shouted as I sat up. "Is anyone here?"

"Thank the lord!" Andrew shouted as he burst through the door. "Oh dear God, I was so scared Astra what the heck!" He slapped my leg and I frowned. "Also I am SO GAMIMÉNO PROUD OF YOU!" I raised an eyebrow as I heard him rambling about how cool everything I did was.

"Andrew," I interrupted him. "What happened? I don't remember anything," I sighed. "Where is Kais?" I questioned, I thought that he was going to be the first person I saw when I woke up.

Andrew let out a sigh. "He umm, he had to do some damage control," I gave Andrew my look. "Hey! Don't give me your look, I am telling you the truth!"

"For once Andrew," I growled, and I felt myself tremble. "Just answer me what I asked,"

"Astra," Andrew backed from my bed. "Astra please calm yourself,"

"I. AM. FUCKING. CALM," I breathed out and I saw Andrew panicking. What on earth?

"Andrew what the hell!" Kais shouted as he rushed to my side. "Astra, listen to me," I turned to look at him, feeling myself getting calmer, "That's it agápi, focus on my voice and my touch,"

I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath, taking in Kais' scent, and it calmed me faster than before. "What is going on?" I whined. "Someone please tell me what is going on!" I shouted as I felt myself trembling again.

"I will tell you right now," Kais spoke. "But I need you to calm down, you were doing great, just focus on me," I, once again focused on Kais. "You got your wolf," Kais chuckled, and I kid you not, I blacked out again.

I sighed in content as I felt someone played with my hair. I didn't particularly like people playing with my hair, but this felt so good. Little shots of electricity ran through me, every time they touched my hair. I could hear the breathing of the other person, calming me more than I wanted to admit, it was so peaceful that I didn't want to wake up...

With a startle, I sat up causing the other person to jump back. "What on earth?" I mumbled as I turned to face Kais with an amused expression.

"Kalós írthes píso agápi," He smiled. "I do hope that you are feeling better," I gave a shy nod. "Are you ready to hear what happened?"

I licked my lips, before sitting down properly. "Uhm, yeah, I do," Kais gave me a sweet smile. "Go for it,"

Kais chuckled. "You turned into a lykánthropos when you heard the cry for help that came from the pack," I frowned. "There was a breach, just like Loki said," He spit out Loki's name with hatred. "I don't what happened, but something inside of you changed or was awoken, and you did not only turn, but you went over and defeated the rouges that had breached into the territory,"

I blinked in surprise. "Did, did I kill them?" I whispered. "Please don't tell me that I killed them, oh my God I killed!" I was hyperventilating by now.

"No! No! Astra listen to me and calm down," Kais softly spoke to me, holding my hands. "You did not kill them, you just left them unconscious so that we could put them in the cell and question them," I raised an eyebrow in disbelief. "Okay," Kais sighed. "You did kill a few of them, but before you get stressed or anything," I ran my hands through my hair. "These wolves are evil, they are not part of packs and they only like to damage and kill wolves that are part of packs,"

"Why did they come here?" I questioned. "What are they or what did they want to accomplish?" It was Kais' turn to get angry. "Kais," I whispered and held his hand. "Please tell me the truth,"

"Promise me," Kais started. "Promise me that if I tell you the whole truth, you will let me take care of everything and protect you," He pleaded with his eyes.

"I can't promise to let you take care of everything Kais," I smiled softly at him. "We are a team, you and me, so we should work together," Kais gave a playful growl. "What I can promise, is that I will try my best, to let you protect me,"

"Fine," He sighed. "They were sent by the Othonos Pack,"

I sat right next to Kais at the end of the table. Nathaniel, Liber, Andrew and some other wolves were reunited, to find a way to stop the Othonos Pack to come against us... They didn't seem so happy, but I think that they didn't me in that meeting...

"What is she doing here?" Some older wolf barked out at me and I frowned.

"Do we have the report on how they managed to breach patrol and enter the territory?" Kais ignored the man.

"They learned the schedule and attacked when we were changing patrols," Liber replied. "I have already a plan to change our schedules for them to never be the same," Kais gave a nod. "There is also another option,"

"Which is?" I questioned staring at Andrew, just because I had a feeling he wanted to do something.

"Just like in Astra's place," Andrew started. "With her help, we can construct a sensor field, with this, only the members of the pack can come and go as they please, and when another wolf or person comes through or approaches, you will all be alerted,"

"Just a flaw in your plan," said the same older wolf. "We need trespassers to survive, after all, we are a go-through town,"

I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "We are aware of that," I snapped. "My house gave to the forest, so believe me when I say that we know how to make sure it isn't triggered with every movement," I let out a sigh. "I believe we can even manage for it only to activate with werewolves that aren't part of the pack,"

"Who gave you the authorization to speak?" Question the wolf. "You aren't even supposed to be here, who do you think you are?"

I smirked. "I am Astra Diakos, Princess and Alpha of the Diakos Pack, and Luna of the Scala Pack," He gulped. "So I don't need anyone's authorization to speak," I rolled my eyes and turned to everyone else. "Give us five days and we'll have the prototype,"

After that, no one dared to even look me in the eye, and neither did anyone refute when I said something... Guess being the mate of Kais isn't a bad thing after all...
