First, it hurts, then it changes you.

I grabbed my cup of coffee and stared out the window, for the first time in a while, I was at peace, something that I had never experienced whilst I lived on my own. Yesterday night had been what we can call magical, something that was written out of a Disney fairytale story, and for the first time in forever, it didn't feel too perfect.

"There you are," Kais' voice snapped me out of my trance. "I didn't find you inside your bedroom when I went looking for you,"

I gave him a side smile. "I woke up early today," I replied. "And decided to have some coffee before taking a run," He gave me a short smile. "Want to join? Maybe I get to meet your wolf," I gave him a sheepish smile.

Kais licked his lips. "I don't see how it could be a problem," He grabbed my cup of coffee. "Just let me know when you are ready,"

I gave him a tight nod and scrambled up towards my bedroom. Even when yesterday had been amazing, and we got somewhat closer, I was still unsure about the whole mate thing, and how it function, but I couldn't deny that the connection...

Am I going crazy?

I patted Kais' wolf before giving him a kiss and entering the house. We had a nice run, but I knew that when he transformed back to a human, he was going to be naked, and I don't think that I am ready for that just yet.

As I slipped back to the PackHouse, I heard some commotion coming from the living room, and it wasn't a friendly conversation, someone was definitely not happy that someone was here.

"Kais kicked you out for a reason!" Nathaniel's voice exclaimed. "What are you doing here and how did you get past our patrol?"

"I need to see him," The other voice spoke. "I have some important information that he will want to hear," I frowned. "Regarding your patrol, well, let's just say that you should be making sure that your warriors are in better shape next time,"

"Loki," Nathaniel growled and I took that moment to enter the room. "Get out of here," He turned to me. "I mean it, you shouldn't be here,"

"And who you might be," Loki smirked as he approached me. I simply raised an eyebrow. "Loki Scala, brother to Kais, and by the smell you have on you, you must be his mate,"

Before I could say anything, an arm grabbed me by my waist and placed me behind someone, my best guess was Kais. "What are you doing here Loki, how did you pass my patrol?"
