I think of you often, even when we don't talk.

I blinked away the information. The Scala Pack had murdered the Othonos' only daughter and to top it all, she was Loki's mate, how could they have done that?

"Why?" I questioned. "You do understand that they have every right to hate you!" I roared. "What was wrong with your father?!"

Kais roared back at me, his wolf was angry, but so was I. "Be careful with what you say," I raised an eyebrow in challenge. "You don't know the whole story,"

"True, I don't," I clenched my jaw. "But I know that it wasn't fair to rip Loki apart from his happiness!" Kais took a step closer, but I stood my ground. "You have told me, actually, EVERYONE has, that you can't live without your soulmate once you identify them!" I barked. "No wonder he hates you,"

"Watch your words, Astra," Kais pronounced each syllable carefully. "You might be my mate, but my wolf doesn't like being disrespected,"

"Yeah?" I scoffed. "There is not much to respect now," I glared. "I thought that the only reason we didn't like Loki was because he aided the hunters and gave away Andrew!"

"He did that before anything happened!" Kais roared to my face. "His mate was killed by accident," He continued, his chest moving heavily with his breath. "She waltz into our territory without identifying herself, nor letting anyone know that she meant no harm,"

"She had been bitten by a rouge wolf," Nathaniel continued. "And it was affecting her thinking," I simply nodded. "When one of the patrol officers approached to help her out, she attacked, and someone pinned her down, hurting her in the process,"

"We took her to the hospital," Kais sighed. "Loki saw her there and knew, but between the bite and her injury the doctor couldn't save her,"

"Oh come on!" I yelled and relaxed a bit. "You can't go around saying that you murdered her! It was a goddamn accident!"

Kais' head hung low. "I believe we could have saved her, but my father didn't prioritize her, you know, she being Loki's mate and all,"

"But that ain't your fault!" I blurted. "Neither it is Loki's nor the Othonos Pack, it was due to a series of unfortunate events," I held Kais' hand. "That doesn't matter, we need to fight and save our Pack,"

Nathaniel yelped. "Everyone is in their positions," I stared at him in surprise. "What? I was multitasking whilst you fought with Kais," I rolled my eyes.

"Okay," Kais took in a deep breath. "We need to talk about this later," I nodded. "Right now, I need you to promise me, that no matter what, you will try to avoid the fight, Loki knows that he has you without your wolf, don't let him kill you, Astra,"

"I won't," I confirmed. "Trust me, I want to put an end to this," Kais kissed me one last time. "I'll snap my fingers three times," And with that, I walked out looking for the one person I wanted to pity but couldn't.

It was an eerie calm as I waited for Loki to appear, I couldn't hear anyone, not even hear birds chirping. I gulped as I moved around some more, closer to the middle of the land, Loki was here, I was sure of that, I just didn't know exactly where he was, and I didn't like that.

"Oh but look at this," Loki chuckled. "Astra Diakos, the last standing Wolf Royalty and the mate of Kais standing right here for me to kill,"

"Show yourself you coward," I snapped back. "Come on, prove to me that you can kill me so that Kais can finally feel what you have felt since that horrendous day," I heard a twig snap and a growl. Caught you...

"How do you know that?" Loki snarled as he appeared right in front of me. "Who told you that my mate was killed?"

"I'm not stupid Loki," I replied calmly. "I know that your hate towards this Pack was because of your father, not because of Kias, you are hurting and you want people to feel what you feel," Loki's eyes narrowed. "And you have every right, but you have to understand that the decisions you made, caused you to lose the most important thing that you could have ever had,"

"DON'T YOU DARE LECTURE ME!" Loki roared. "It doesn't matter what happened in the past or whatever, I will end you, and by doing so I will end all the werewolf race!" He laughed maniacally.

I frowned. "And what? You are going to be the last werewolf standing?" He blinked away, someone didn't think so far along. "You are going to die, alone, and with no one to truly understand your nature, you are condemning every wolf for what? An act of stupid revenge? I am sure that you have another mate somewhere!"

Loki roared. "I don't!" I took a step back. "The Moon Goddess decided to not give me another one because of the treason," He sneered. "So I am already doomed to be alone forever, the difference is that if I kill you, everyone else will die too,"

I snapped my fingers three times, just like I had told Kais. Loki frowned at the action but paid no mind, he did want to kill me. "Then do it," I smirked. "Come on, kill me," I taunted as I felt my wolf slowly returning to me. "I dare you,"

Loki smiled. "It would be my pleasure," he transformed right in front of me, but Kais' wolf was already on top of him before he could launch at me.

This was going to be a deadly fight, and either I was going to win or lose...
