"You can leave the bathroom after the pain eases." Iña said, storing the First Aid kit in the cabinets. Then she left before I had a chance to ask her for directions back to my room. I still wasn't familiar with the place.

But I was stuck here with Ty.

"So..." he began.

"Why were you acting so weird?" I asked sharply.

Ty raised an eyebrow and he cocked his head to the side.

"What?" He asked, clearly confused. His countenance looked so adorable the way he tilted his head the way he just did.

I couldn't stay mad at him. And, why even was I mad at him? I had no valid reason...just the fact that I got confused too.

"Never mind." I said, waving my hand in the air as if the thought was in front of me and I just whacked it away.

Ty shrugged and stood up. He approached me and he sat next to me on the counter.

"Brynn, have you ever been in love? Honestly, answer me." He said.

I had to think about this.

Well...when I was 7, I had a little bit of a boyfriend experience. I met this particular boy at the mills, where I was sent to go collect milk. I bumped into him and I fell in love with him. His name was Arter. He asked me out (or, in reality, he asked me to go on a walk with him the following day) and I said yes. We kissed each other a few times, and then, one day, I never saw him again. It was as if he just fell off the face of the earth. I later learned from his friend that Arter was executed that year at the ceremony. Something wasn't right. I would've heard his name called, right? He simply just left the planet. I cried my eyes out that night. I never forgot him, until I met another dude named Paco about three years after that. But Paco cheated on me with Ashley.

"No." I lied to Ty. "I never had a boyfriend."

Ty seemed a bit happy by this. He turned his head to hide a smile. But we both know, that this friendship was gonna turn into something more than being friends.

I looked at Ty. Sometimes, I really did get lost in his eyes. Those blue eyes...blue like the sky we observed this morning on my balcony. Blue like the ocean, on a clear day. Blue like the color I have learned to love.

He looked at my mouth for a nano second. Then he looked back into my eyes.

"Well, I don't know about you, but I don't want to be stuck in a bathroom all day. Let's go." he said. My mouth dropped.

Really? Are you serious right now!? Well, so much for kissing him.

"Are you feeling better?" Ty asked. I nodded as he helped me off the counter and we walked back to my bedroom.

I tried to not stay mad at him. Well, he blew it. I felt a sharp pain in my chest.

Heartbreak.

I knew how it felt. I remembered that feeling from the time I realized that I would never see Arter again. Now is different. Ty seems like the only person who understands me. And he's being a jerk right now.

I ran into my bedroom and I slammed the door shut.

"Hey!" Ty called from the other side. "Let me in!"

I exhaled and opened the door.

Ty was smiling.

"You're funny." he said, walking in.

I rolled my eyes and I limped over to the balcony. Ty joined me.

The town was awake by now. Kids were playing soccer in the fields. I saw people working outside. It broke my heart to think about my family again.

Suddenly, I spotted a girl walking alone.

Ashley.

She had her arms crossed, and she was wearing colorful clothing...thats a first. We never had colorful clothing, considering that Ashley had it... it was probably new. I looked at her long hair sway in the wind.

How could my parents do this!? They are spoiling her now!

Well, not that I am any better. I live in a castle now. I have dresses worth millions a piece. I have a ballroom sized bedroom. I have a really cute guy standing next to me.

I shouldn't be complaining.

"What're you looking at?" Ty asked impatiently.

I focused back on him.

"Nothing." I said.

"Well, you're pretty darn concentrated on something down there." Ty said, scanning the horizon for something interesting.

"Not really." I said. "It's just nature."

Ty smiled.

"I thought you liked it."

"Yeah, until I felt it all over my skin." I said, touching the band aids on my arms. Ty poked one on my wrist. I laughed from the ticklish feeling.

His touch was soft. He made sure not to hurt me, and I knew that he would make a great boyfriend someday.

"Stop!" I said in between giggles, falling to the floor as Ty tickled me.

I hated being tickled. It's not the first time that I would cry from the laughter.

"I'll stop if you tell me what you were examining in the landscape!" Ty said.

"Okay okay!" I shouted, letting out one last laugh as Ty stopped tickling me.

I pointed to Ashley, who was now sitting next to a tree. Alone.

"That's my twin sister, Ashley." I said.

Ty squinted as hard as he could.

"She's the one who forced you up on the stage?" He asked.

"Yep."

"What a bitch..."

I gasped.

Ty apologized immediately.

"Sorry, I meant to say that her actions were...erm...bitchy..." He said.

I wasn't buying it. And clearly, he could tell.

"Sorry." he said again, pulling me in for a hug.

I squeezed him back for a moment.

"It's fine. I kinda felt and said the same." I said.

Ty leaned on the railing of the balcony. He inhaled deeply, and then he exhaled.

"Fresh air..." he muttered.

Okay, this was getting creepy.

I turned away from the railing and I walked back into my room. Ty noticed that I left and he followed.

"So, anything on your mind? What do you want to do?" I asked.

I slumped down on the chest in front of my bed. Ty sat next to me. He was as close to me as he was in the bathroom.

"Whatever you want to do." he said.
