Eric had enough of his father and decided that since he wan't strong enough to make his father leave he would have to be the bigger person and leave his office. It was a huge blow to pride to know that the eyes and ears of all the wolves working for him would be watching him, judging him. Eric could feel himself gritting his teeth together in anger to prevent himself from lashing out to them.

I can't, he thought, the humans wouldn't understand and it would just cause more trouble with father.

He knew he couldn't afford any more trouble and now that Damien was back he and his father needed to present a united front with the pack, but for now he was going to take a walk to clear his head, God knew he honstly needed one. Many of his packmates thought he was cold and unfeeling but it wasn't true. Eric knew that even after all these years the pain of everything that happened with his brother was still fresh in his heart. He didn't want to seem weak to his father and the Elders so he build a wall around himself to avoid showing everyone just how much he truly loved and cared for his brother.

"If only I was brave enough to stand up to father but as the Head Alpha he alone could determind whats happens to those who don't follow the structure my ancestors had set up for the pack, " he murmured to himself. Just as he was getting ready to head back to his office he smelled a scent that was so faint it was as if the person hadn't been there for days. ROUGE, his wolf instinct roared. He knew from experience that some rouges could sometimes hide their scent or even mask it with something else.

I better go check it out, he thought. 'Father I smelled a rouge's scent coming from somewhere and I am going to go check it out,' he said to his father through the pack's mind link.

'Alright if you find him then please dispose of quickly and quietly,' his father replied back.

'I thought we were supposed to try to detain them first and then if we could not to kill them.' Eric seemed confused about the shift in pack law.

'You are but now that Damein's back we cant risk this rouge being one of his flunkies and end up relaying messages to him about us' his father said.

'Ok father i will do as you ask of me,' with that last statement Eric broke the connection to his father and starting searching around him for the direction the scent started from. He realized it was coming from the woods he and his pack owns. So thats probably where your hiding you filthy rouge when I find you your gonna beg me for death.

He resisted the urge to shift into his wolf form since it possible that anyone could see him so he had to wait until he was far enough in the woods to accomplish that. The deeper he went into the woods the more stronger the scent became until finally the scent became strong enough that he knew he found it. It was strange because in front of him was a tall and old oak tree that had leaves in a pile on one side of it, but that's where the scent stops. Maybe I should move the leaves aside to see if the rouge left something behind that kept his scent in the area.

As his hand reached between the leaves he realized too late that the wolf was hiding in the tree.
