Someone was leaning over her. Their arm was touching her shoulder. She was positive of that even in her sleep. It wasn't a sexual touch, more like a 'I'm trying to avoid waking you up touch.' For a moment she thought it was Eric and almost spoke out to him. Until she realized that if it was Eric, she would have smelled him even in her dreams. The problem lied in the fact that she was awoken by a touch, not by a smell. This person had no smell, impossible.
Her heart starting beating faster and the person above her tensed, they knew she was awoke now. Giselle opened her and prepared to rip this person's throat out, when something silver hit her neck. She knew it was silver because it burned like hell and it hadn't even cut her yet. She snarled, "Who are you and what do you want." It was nighttime and the room was pitch black, that meant she had slept longer than she thought.
"I just want to talk," the voice sounded male.
"Why should I believe that the guy holding a knife to my neck just wants to talk to me."
"The knife was necessary and had I not brought it to subdue you, you would have tried to attack me, which you just did I might add, and I would have been forced to either kill you or hurt you badly and I didn't come here with intention to hurt you. I just want you to hear me out and I'll leave."
"Why is it so important that I hear you out?"
"Because you are the only one that doesn't have anything against me personally. Look I am going to turn on the lamp beside the bed and let you see my face as a show of good faith.
"How do you know about the lamp?" The moment she ask that question she knew the answer. She could feel the 'duh' look on his face. "Of course, it's because you've been here before. "
"Several times in fact. Now will you be a good girl and let me turn on the light."
She looked down at the knife and grimaced, "Doesn't look like I have much of a choice." The guy loosen the knife just enough for her to breathe easier but not enough for her to attack him without risk to herself. She felt his weight shift as he turned on the light. The face she was met with was as handsome as they come and oddly familiar. "Have I met you before?" She asked, gazing into his light brown eyes.
He smirked, "In a sense."
"Explain."
"I guess you can say we met through word of mouth."
"Impossible, I've seen your face before."
"I'll just bet you have, after all you have been seeing it everyday since you've joined the pack. It's just that the coloring is a little different."
Coloring is a little different...What did he mean by that? "What is your name?"
His eyes sparkled, "I'll give you two choices."
"The Devil."
"Close but not quite there." He smiled and Giselle felt like she had been hit by a mac truck.
She had undoubtedly saw that smile before. Turning away from the man and looking at the nightstand the lamp was on she saw that smile again. On Eric's face. That made the man above her, "Damein," she softly whispered.
"You got it," he whispered.
"Why do you want to talk to me? You don't know me. "
"I don't but you're the only one who might hear me out."
"About what?"
"About the fact that none of what's going on is my fault. I've done things to the pack in the past and I said I'll do things in future but I was just a stupid teenager who hated the place he living was angry at his father and brother. "
"Why come back to the place that contains everything you hate?"
"She wanted me to come and make amends," his eyes got a far away look.
"She?"
"My mate."
"Where's your mate now?"
"Dead."
Giselle heart broke at that, "If It isn't too rude, may I ask who killed her?"
"I don't know. The only clue I have is who ever is after you guys, went after her. My mate was to sweet and innocent to have been involved in any of this, I had to be the person they were truly after. So I've been following you ever since you got here in hopes that the person would show themselves. At first I was following Eric and my father but eveything changed when you got here and I want to know why. Why did the violence level shift?"
So her theory was right. It seems like both of them were in the same situation, being targeted and not knowing why and who was doing it. "How did she die?"
His voice cracked, "Her heart was ripped out."
Just like Camilla. "Oh Goddess, I'm so sorry you had to find her like that."
"It's fine, it happened over a year ago. That's why I want to ask you personally, "Do you know anyone that would want you dead for reason. I need a lead."
She thought about it for a moment, "Well, there is my dad but up till the Mating Ceremony he had no idea why I was."
"Doesn't matter, as long as I have a lead I'm fine. Don't worry I'm not going to kill him I will-"
The doorbell rang, both she and Damein turned toward the sound. "i have to answer that."
"Let one of the men get it."
"That reminds me, how were you able to get in here without any of the men hearing or smelling you?"
"Trade secret."
A knock at the door startled her. "Hey Giselle, are you up?" It was Josh's voice, at least he remembered to not call her Luna. "Josie is here and she wants to speak to you."
"I'm woke, tell her I'll be down in a minute," I called out, "You have to go."
"Don't worry princess, I'm leaving now, but before I go I warn you to be careful."
"How sweet, I didn't know you cared."
"I don't but if you die I'll lose the best chance I have of killing this fucker."
"Watch your language."
"Make me." With that, he leaned from over her and climbed out the window with the same speed he probably used to come in.
Giselle was left staring at the window and frowning. She wasn't sure how to go about dealing with the situation with Damein. On one hand she wanted to call Eric and let him know what happened, and on the other she wanted to keep the information to herself until she could get more information on what was going on. Either way if Eric found out he was going to be pissed. He'll more than likely try to have her locked up somewhere and she didn't want that. She was going to have to clear her head before deciding.
The house was quiet as she made it downstairs. Fainltly, she hear the the sounds of the living room t.v and the guy's quiet laughter. The window from when the bird crashed in was covered with a box and taped together until she could get it fixed. Josie was waiting for her by the front door. She looked kind of lost. "Hey, What are you doing here I didn't know we had plans for today?"
"We don't, I just wanted to watch it all go down."
"Watch what?"
"You'll see." Just as she spoke those words some type of gas started to fill the house.
Giselle could hear the surprise yelps and growls of the guys. She turned away for Josie as the sound of thumps hit the ground. "What the hell is this?" She turned to face Josie again and was shocked to see her face covered with a gas mask. Soon she started to feel weird as her body shut down. She glared at Josie as her eyes shifted into her wolf's and said, "You bitch, you better hope I don't wake up because I'm going to rip your head off with my teeth." And she never sleep.

Congratulations to anyone who guessed that Josie was part of it, Damein is innocent and a victim, and that there are multiple people involved in this.
