While Giselle was trapped Goddess knows where and with who, Eric was too busy trying to tear out the throat of the only lead he had of finding her. The thought alone had him stopping in his tracks for a moment, that gave enough leeway for Josh to pull him off of Damein but not before Eric gave him a full frontal kick in the face. Damein let out a piercing howl as he clutched his newly broken nose and split lip that bled profusely. Even though the wound would heal in seconds, it gave Eric a smug sense of satisfaction.
"Fuck! You broke my fucking nose you son of a bitch," Damein yelled out.
"You were in my room with my mate alone and used her as bait, I think we can say I can still owe you more. "
"Owe you! At least I came to warn her, not to get her all to myself. Though I can say she's a hot little number even if red heads are not my type."
"What is your type? Women you can abuse."
That statement wiped the smile that was forming on Damien's face off. His eyes gained a lost and broken look as he thought about his dead mate. "I apologize for who I was in my youth. Those who I have hurt did not deserve it."
"Just as Giselle did not deserve what was done to her."
"I didn't hurt her."
"No, but you let her be taken and that is just as bad as hurting her yourself. If you ever find your mate, I hope you treat her better than you've treated all the other people in your life."
"I did find my mate."
"If you found her then why are you he-"
"But she's dead now."
Eric flinched in shock, he didn't know the pain of losing one's mate but he heard is was excruciating. However, it didn't excuse him from using Giselle and potentially having Eric end up just like him. "I'm sorry that you lost your mate so soon but that did not give you the right to put mine's in harm's way. How would you have liked it if our situations were reversed."
"I would have killed you."
"As I am trying so hard not to do to you."
"I apologize. I'm trying to help you get her back, isn't that enough."
"No, it would never be enough," Josh intervened, "You should have never allowed her to be taken in the first place."
Damein opened his mouth to speak but couldn't find the words to speak. He knew that if his mate was still alive she would be disappointed and angry with him. He should have hunted the bastards alone without involving anyone else but when he heard that Camilla had died in the same manner as his mate he couldn't stop the red haze of rage that engulfed him. When it became obvious that Eric and his mate were their prime targets, he knew he would do anything to get his revenge.
No matter who he hurt. But now he realized he went too far, "My mate was my world and after she died I couldn't and still can't forgive myself. I was the target and because they didn't find me, they killed her. You're right that I should have never done what I did but you would do anything to avenge your mate if you would her mutilated the way I found mines."
"How did she die? It was never said," Josh questioned.
A look of intense rage, hatred, longing, and pain ran across Damein's face. "In an almost exact manner as Camilla. The only difference is that no sign of torture was present on my mate. They dosed her with enough wolfs bane to keep her unaware and compliant while the sick bastards did what they had to do."
"How did you know that whoever is doing this to me and Giselle is the same people?" Eric asked.
"They left a note in my mate's blood saying the pack was next. At first I wanted to come here instantly but I couldn't leave her, even if she was dead. When I first arrived I expected to hear that members of the pack had died but that wasn't the case. So I started to think they were fucking with me and leading around in circles. I almost left but then the incidents started and I decided to stay. I wasn't sure it was them until Camilla died."
Eric made a frustrated noise, "BUT WHY ARE THEY AFTER US!"
Damein winced at the unexpected volume, "I don't know but I thought it was maybe because of what I did in my youth but they went after you as well."
A fake coughing sound made its way into the conversation, "Sorry to interrupt but shouldn't we be finding Giselle."
"Oh yeah...about that," Damein began.
"What is it?" Josh questioned.
"Thanks to the traitor in the pack, we should be able to find her."
At the mention of a traitor in the pack, Eric stiffen, "Who and how?!"
"Josie, and a little thing I like to call a tracking device."
"Well, then what are we waiting for."
