Requested by: my brain remembering why I got into Cookie Run in the first place.
[As a side note, Roguefort's pronouns made me have a existential crisis, until my sister reminded me that English is weird because it's not a gendered language. In the future I may use he/they pronouns for Roguefort, but in this one I don't.]
Today was yet another bad day. Negativity just hadn't left them. Stressed and tired, (C/F) Cookie opens their bedroom window, looking out at the brilliant night sky.
At least this was quiet and peaceful...
Having the top floor is nice, unless there's a police chase going on, which thankfully tonight there wasn't. They might have finally snapped if blaring sirens kept them awake all night...
They climb up to the roof, admiring all the city lights that looked like twinkling stars from this distance. It was nice to just take in the peace and quiet with the beautiful scene and they were glad nothing was there to disturb th—
"Good evening."
They turn to see a beautifully handsome Cookie.
"Uh, hi." They greet the stranger, "Wait, are you Roguefort Cookie? The Phantom Bleu?"
"Sharpwitted, I see! I'm impressed! Not every Cookie can recognize me by a simple glance." They smile.
"I'm not about to get robbed am I?" (C/F) Cookie asks nervously.
"Oh goodness no!" They wave off their concern, "I'm not doing anything of the sort tonight. Though I wouldn't mind stealing away a jewel as lovely as yourself."
(C/F) Cookie was literally speechless. That was smooth. Smoother than they anticipated.
"What brings you up here tonight?" Phantom Bleu asks, moving to stand just beside them to look out over the city.
But (C/F) Cookie had finally registered exactly what they said, "Wait, "tonight"? Doesn't that just mean I'll get robbed in the future?"
They chuckle, shrugging, "I make no promises."
"Figured..."
They just sat in silence for a moment. It was not an unwelcome silence, just quiet.
"Then I assume today has been rather horrid for you." Phantom Bleu speaks up.
"What gives you that impression?" (C/F) Cookie asks them.
"You don't often find joyous company on a roof." They reason, "But I am willing to take another guess. I just assumed that if you did this as part of your routine that I'd have seen you here before now."
"Kinda don't want to be on a roof when there's blaring sirens and searchlights." (C/F) Cookie shrugs.
"Oh, it's actually rather fun." Phantom Bleu laughs, "I think of it as more of an evening stroll."
"Easy to say for someone who can literally disappear."
They snicker, "Perhaps."
"What were you even doing out here tonight?" (C/F) Cookie asks them.
"Going for an evening stroll of course."
That got a chuckle out of (C/F) Cookie.
"My my, you sparkle even more when you smile."
"Do you flirt with everyone?"
"I am the Stealer of Hearts." Roguefort Cookie shrugs. "Why? Have I already stolen yours?"
(C/F) Cookie thinks for a moment, "Eh. Not really."
"Hmm, alright then."
As the silence returned, it was no longer a welcome one.
(C/F) Cookie tried to come up with something to say to change the subject and ended up going with the most cliché subject that came to mind, "The weather is nice tonight..."
"Indeed it is." Roguefort Cookie agrees, grinning wider at the silliness of the conversation starter, "The clear sky allows for all the light from the city to be seen clear as day, while still letting the shining stars be visible."
"Yeah."
"Though, I'm pretty sure there are better places to see it."
"Well, I guess?" (C/F) Cookie shrugs, "I wouldn't know; I don't spend that much time up here."
"I'd be happy to show you, if you wish."
"I think I'm ok without it, at least for tonight, I probably need to go to bed." They have to stop themself from yawning.
"Well then, fair well, until I see you again."
"Bye?"
But Roguefort Cookie was already gone.
"Is this cat hair? Cheese mold?" (C/F) Cookie flicks the small amount of dirt left from the Phantom Bleu's departure. "Oh well..." They climb back into their window. Just as they were about to close it, something flat, and actually somewhat heavy, smacked them in the face.
"Ow!" They glance out the window to find the perpetrator, Roguefort Cookie, waving goodbye as they run across a balcony of a nearby building.
Picking what is obviously a calling card off the floor, (C/F) Cookie opens it up to read it, careful not to rip the wax seal.
"I'll be back for your heart, lovely jewel."
"...Ok, but when did they have time to write this?"
