Sorry if Kel feels out of character. I haven't played OMORI in a while... I just had a surge of motivation and wrote with how I remember him speaking.

(Y/N) sighs as they look out the window of their hospital room. This is so boring. About this time they should've been at home—likely doing homework—but after falling out of a tree that afternoon they had broken their leg and had to go to the hospital.

It wasn't a serious injury, barely a complete, nondisplaced fracture in their tibia at worst. Sure they had cried like a baby when it happened, but they were fine now! They had a cast and everything! But no! They have to stay here to rest! At least their parents said they'd take them home in the morning. That was something, even if it felt far away.

There's a knock on the door.

"Yeah?" They call over their shoulder, still looking out the window, "Come in."

"I came as soon as I could get a ride!" In comes Kel, their wonderful boyfriend, with two boxes of Gino's pizza.

"Kel!" They quickly turn their head towards him as they recognize his voice. His unexpected visit brings a smile to their face.

"How are you doing?" He asks, setting the pizza on the table beside their bed.

"I'm fine really. I'll just have to wear this for the next few weeks." (Y/N) shrugs, gesturing to their cast, "I'm glad you're here though...I was starting to feel a little lonely."

"Of course I came!" He smiles widely, "How long are you staying in the hospital?"

"Just for tonight. My parents want to make sure it doesn't get worse and have to drive me back." They groan.

"That makes sense." Kel opens one of the pizza boxes and grabs a slice. "Better safe than sorry."

"Did they let you bring that in?" (Y/N) laughs.

"Yep." Kel nods, taking a huge bite of pizza. He practically inhales it as it's gone in seconds. "You can help yourself to some, if you want. Since it's not an issue with your stomach the nurse said you're welcome to have some."

"Sweet!" They grab a slice themself and eagerly start eating. "You even remembered to bring enough for both of us!"

"Haha, after you got so mad at me for eating the entire pizza that one time, I always get one for each of us." He admits this with a laugh while scratching the back of his neck.

"You mean half one for me and one and a half for you." (Y/N) jokingly corrects him while grabbing another slice.

"Haha... yeah." He nods.

"So how was practice today?" They change the subject.

"Basically the usual. I found out what happened to you while I was there so Coach let me leave early, so I ran over to Gino's to grab these," He gestures to the pizza boxes, "then went home and convinced my mom to drive me over."

"Aww. You didn't have to get pizza. They were going to feed me." (Y/N) snickers.

"What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't bring you pizza?" He laughs.

"Still the best boyfriend ever." They join in his laughter.

"Nah, I think Hero gets that one." Kel shakes his head, "He can cook."

"Doesn't matter to me. You're here for me, even when you have other stuff to do."

"And you help me with my homework when I don't understand it." Kel grins.

"Kel, I would do that even if we weren't dating!" They laugh.

"And I'd still be there for you, (Y/N)!" He laughs too. His wide smile causes theirs to double in size.

"I guess the only difference is we wouldn't hold hands as much." They snicker.

"Don't even suggest that!" Kel exclaims, "I love holding your hand!" He reaches into the pizza box they had emptied while joking around and finds nothing there. "Oh, looks like we're onto the second one already!"

"Is that even surprising?" They can't help but keep laughing as Kel unceremoniously tosses the empty box across the room in the direction of the trash can. "Kel, that's not gonna fit in there! And especially not if you don't flatten it!"

"Oh right!" He walks over and picks up the box. He opens it, flattens it, then folds it and shoves it into the tiny trash can. "And you said it wouldn't fit!"

"It takes up the entire thing!"

"So? It's staying in."

"Half of it is sticking out!"

"It's still in the trash can!" He says defensively.

(Y/N) is laughing so hard they can't even respond. They're basically wheezing and tears of joy are sliding out of their eyes.

"Oh shoot, is it that late already?" Kel glances out the window, "Sorry (Y/N), I've got to go. Mom wanted to get home before dark."

"That's ok. Be sure to tell Hector hi from me." They smile.

"I will. Do you want me to take the leftover pizza?" He comes back over to their bed.

"Yeah. I don't have a fridge here and you'll probably eat it on your way home." (Y/N) nods, "But I'm taking one more slice."

"Go right ahead." Kel smiles. "I brought it for you after all."

"Kel?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks for coming to see me, and for pizza." They smile too. They take his hand in theirs—the one that's not holding pizza.

"No problem." Kel squeezes their hand with his and picks up the pizza box with his other, "I'll always be here for you."

"See you tomorrow?"

"Definitely! If you're not at school I'll come by your house and get you the stuff you miss." He nods.

"Thanks." They pause, "Kel?"

"Yeah (Y/N)?"

"Love you."

His expression shifts to surprise for a moment before he chuckles, "You got me. I love you too."

His hand slides out of theirs as they reluctantly let go of each other.

"See ya tomorrow (Y/N)." He says, opening the door.

"Bye Kel."

He closes the door behind him, but the happy feeling he brought with him lingers. (Y/N) continues to smile as they return their gaze to the sunset out the window. This is certainly a lot less boring now that they have something to look forward to.

Maybe he'll bring the leftover pizza tomorrow!
