Chapter 38 | "You have to believe me!"

3rd person pov:

Slowly (y/n) creeps through the halls. She was unable to get any sleep. The only thing from saving her from looking like a zombie, who's out to eat whole hearts, is make-up.
As she walks to her classroom, hoping to not meet Chan, people don't notice her just like usual. But the girl is for once glad no one tries to talk to her. All she wants is to be left alone. Alone to deal with her broken, aching heart. And she is alone, until Felix, the only person left she considers a friend, approaches her.
"Hey (y/n)! Thank you again for the invitation to play Lasertag. That was so much fun", he cheers happily, as he walks beside his female friend. The second he's done, he notices that something is up, as his otherwise happy friend is just walking, head and gaze down. Gently he pulls her to the side, her back to the lockers with him covering her, in order to get a bit of privacy.
"(Y/n), what's wrong?", Felix's serious and (Y/n) knows that.
"Did you not see?", The girl whispers, starting to cry again.
"See what?"
Shivering the crying girl gives Felix her phone with the video and waits for his reaction, changing from serious to absolute disgust.
"No.. this can't be real.. maybe it's face!", The freckled boy tries to stay positive, but for that it's already to late.
"I know Chan and I know when I see him.. he way he held onto her, he would do that with me too.. though we never made out.."
Part of (y/n) feel sad admitting that, but what would lying help her now? She is hurt either way. That's why she had always been scared to love.
Softly Felix embraces his crying friend in a hug.
"What are you gonna do now? You and... You have classes together.."
She nods: "I know.. but I don't wanna see nor talk to him. Can you please stay with me for today?"
"Of course!"

While the friends share a cute and emotional moment, they are unaware that they're being watched.
"Now's you change", Jade says, standing next to Minho, sucking on her lollipop.
The handsome boy next to her doesn't give her a glance, instead he stares at Felix and (y/n), who are still hugging.
"You really wanna miss your chance after all we did to get this far?", With a certaint aggravation in her usually sweet voice she talks to the boy, who is more worried than anything.
"I told you not to hurt her", he hisses like a cat, making Jade shrug her shoulders.
"Well, she's hurt now. Might as well take you adventage while you have it."
After these words she hands him her lollipop and walks away to her own class.
Angrily he looks back to (y/n) then to the lollipop.
"Such a bitch..", he mutters, letting the candy fall to the floor, before also going to his first class of the day.

Felix, being the nice person he is, walks (y/n) to her classroom. When they part ways and the (h/c) girl enters the room, everyone ignores her like they usually do. Except for the one guy, that had been sitting behind her for one year. He immediately stands up and walks towards her, wanting to make sure she's okay, but he gets stopped when the teacher, that entered after (y/n) tells him to sit back down. A bit disappointed he does, knowing he can talk to her when the lesson starts. And while he tries, the girl he loves simply ignores his every try, hoping he would give up, before she breaks down again.

When the class ends, (y/n) basically runs out, again avoiding Chan, who is worried sick. Her behaviour scares him. What of he did anything wrong and hurt her? What if he'll lose her?

As (y/n) walks to the bench Felix is always at, when they're eating lunch, she meets Rosa and Jade. Both give her evil grins, as Rosa blocks her old friends way.
"Can you please move?", (Y/n) tries to avoid conflict, but of course, they would make it so easy for her.
"We told you, he's meant to be with me", Jade chuckles sweet as always, giving the almost crying girl goosebump.
"How does it feel to be the sidechick all this time?", Rosa laughs, causing her ex friends tears to build up yet again.
Why would she do this, she thought to herself, trying to hold in her tears, when a male voice interrupts the whole situation.
"Hey! Leave her alone!", Minho says, standing between (y/n) and the two girls.
Rosa gives him an eyeroll and leaves, while Jade winks, but follows her friend.
When Minho is sure they have left, he turns around to comfort (y/n).
"Are you okay?", He asks, knowing that's a stupid question, to which the girl in front of him only shakes her head.
"Come on, let's get you to someone who can actually comfort you", with a bit of disappointment he helps the girl to walk, when she tries to stop him, since she thinks he's talking about Chan. And he can tell what her fear is.
"I meant Felix. Don't worry... I saw the video."
Hearing him say that, instantly makes her less tense. Until a too familiar voice speaks up.
"(Y/n)! What's the matter? Why are you avoiding me?"
Immediately her tears flow down stronger and it gets harder to cry quietly. Minho is overwhelmed, unsure how to actually handle this. So he just freezes, like like the smaller girl beside him. When Chan comes closer, (y/n) walks a few steps further and turns around to face Chan. Tears are still dripping down her face.
"You.. you're crying?"
"Why?", The girl begins, which quickly turns into shouting, "Why would you do this to me?! Why would you make out with her, when you said you don't like her??"
"What?"

Eyes are on them. All the eyes indeed.

"You mean Jade? I've never done anything with her! You have to believe me!"

"Like I used to say. Fuck off bang! Love is a waste of time, just like loving you was and is a waste of time!"

With these words (y/n) runs off. Off of school property and home. She felt too weak to deal with such many big emotions. So she leaves a heartbroken Chan and a guilty Minho behind.
