Jack's POV

"Okay, I'll see you Friday," Tay said sadly then ended the call

"Who was that?" I asked, wrapping my arms around her

"Joanna, Cris' funeral is on Friday" she said . I kissed the top of her head "When do you have to go back to America?" she asked

"Sunday" I said, feeling guilty and looking at the floor. I didn't want to leave her alone, not just that but I didn't want to miss her. She stayed silent for a moment

"Will you come with me on Friday?" she asked

"Of course I will" I said, kissing her lips quickly

That night we played the final show of the tour and the next day we headed back to Liverpool. Tay was pretty much silent again but what can you expect from someone who was about to attend their best friend's funeral?

Tay's POV

"Tee-To" Charlie said as he opened the door, he was smiling but his eyes were red. I hugged him so tightly that I could feel him fighting for air "How have you been?" he asked, nodding his hello at Jack who was with me. I shrugged and he understood "Come in" he said walking back into the apartment where we followed.

I looked around. Things were the same but everything felt different.

"So I heard about you two getting together" Charlie said as he made three cups of tea

"How?" I asked, cheeks heating slightly

"It's all over the internet" he said with a small laugh. He walked over to where we were sat and handed us a mug each. It was silent for a moment.

"Can I say something tomorrow, you know, at the church?" I asked

"We were hoping you would actually," Charlie said back. I nodded. Jack squeezed my hand making me relax slightly.

The next day we were walking towards the church. The day was cold, it was quickly starting to feel like winter. The huge doors made the place look a lot grander than it really was. I could feel hundreds of eyes on me as I walked down the middle of the church to the front where Charlie had told me and Jack we would be sat. I tried to avoid eye contact with everyone but I did notice the supportive nods and smiles of the rest of All Time Low who were dressed smartly in their new black suits sat in the middle of the congregation.

Shortly after we'd taken out seats the funeral began and soon enough it was my turn to take my place at the lectern and read from the crumpled piece of paper in my dress pocket.

"If you need me, just nod" Jack whispered as I got up to read.

I took a second to glance over the faces staring up at me, waiting for me to begin. Some tear stained, some red-eyed, some with shaking bottom lips and the odd stronger person dotted here and there who were managing to hold it together. I took a shaky, deep breath and began

"It comes as no surprise that the world is just that bit duller now without Cris here to brighten it. When someone passes, you realise that it's the little things you miss the most: the way they'd appear exactly when you need them as if it was some sort of sixth sense, the texts they'd send through the day just to make sure that you're okay, how they'd sit and watch your favourite film for the thousandth time with you when you're not feeling well, how their laugh could make you laugh for hours on end until you're both sitting there with aching sides and tears streaming down your faces for no reason at all. Cris was the closest person to me, we could have whole conversations through looks that we'd send to each other, we knew what the other was thinking and sometimes that was scary but having someone like that, who you can trust with anything and everything, is one of the best things in the world and now that it's gone..." I stopped, it was hard enough to get through the first half. I searched through the blur of tears for Jack, who was already walking towards me. He took the piece of paper and started to read from where I left off
