A sense of relief rushed over me when I looked up to see Cris standing over me. She reached out her hand and helped me up off the floor. My bones clicked as I straightened out. I gladly accepted the hoodie that Cris has brought with her and wrapped it around my shaking shoulders.

I dropped into the passenger seat of Cris' car. The warmth and shelter causing me to feel instantly better.

"You wanna talk?"

"Not right now," I stared out of the window as the building disappeared into the distance.

The different droplets raced down the glass causing the view to become distraught; either that or my vision was starting to blare through pure exhaustion "Thank you, Cris" I turned and smiled at her weakly

"Any time, Tay" she said returning my half hearted smile

After a long, silent drive home in the dark, I made my way into my empty apartment and headed straight for the bathroom. I turned on the shower and stripped off my clothes, which was not a simple task as the were stuck to me like glue.

I stood under the running water and let it wash over my body relaxing my aching muscles. I must have been stood in there for at least 40 minutes before I got out and found the biggest, fluffiest towel to wrap around me.

I staggered out into my bedroom hardly able to keep my eyes open any longer. All energy had been drained from me over the past 24hours. Half asleep, I pulled an over sized shirt over my head not bothering to dry my hair and crawled under the thick covers. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest bit when I say that the second my head hit the pillow, I was out for the count.

-----

I felt the weight shift on my bed. Confused, I slowly opened my eyes to find Cris two inches from my face grinning like a fool.

"Just because you have a key doesn't mean you can creep in here and watch me sleep, freak" I laughed sitting up

"Sorry, you don't normally wake up..." she stated with a serious face which lasted all but 5 seconds before we both burst out laughing hysterically. Once we'd caught our breath she began to speak again "I've got an idea!"

"With the look that's on your face right now I don't like that idea," I replied. She hadn't stopped smiling from the second I woke up. Correction, the second she woke me up.

"Ohh Tay you couldn't be more wrong. You're going to love it!" she beamed at me

"Well go on then, tell me this marvelous plan of yours"

"Me. You. Three weeks. California. I say no more!" she said, eagerly awaiting my reply

"What? I'd love to but... what about your work? when? how?" This is by far the most spontaneous thing Cris had ever done to date. She was always organised months in advance with every last detail planned out.

"It's all sorted! I called Mark this morning and he's given me three weeks off work, he said I deserved it, and I took the liberty of checking your diary and saw you have nothing coming up. Then I went on one of those last minute ticket website things and there are two tickets to California, leaving in two days going for a good price! It all worked out. All we have to do is click buy" she said pointing to the laptop on the end of my bed which I'd failed to notice until now

"Wow slow down! okay so you have defiantly got the time off work?" she nodded "and I know I have nothing coming up. Is this website legit?" she nodded again this time with more force "and the plane leaves in two days?"

"YES, YES, YES AND YES." she screamed

"Well stop nodding before your head falls off and lets start packing!" I shouted jumping up, suddenly full of energy
