It was the summer of '85 and you were going to be spending it working. You would have thought that after working hard and graduating high school you would be able to spend the summer relaxing however your parents decided to ship you off to some place called Hawkins to watch over your elderly relative. So here you were ready to start your first day at Scoops Ahoy Icecream Parlour.

Walking into the brightly coloured shop you went over and approached the two individuals manning the till. One a girl was stood round the back, her head popping up through the the opening between the two rooms. She was talking to the guy who was stood at the till and it seemed kinda serious judging by the intensity of the muttering. She gestures in your direction causing the boy to turn around, throwing his scoops Ahoy hat to one side and pulling a smile across his face.

You had to admit that the guy was cute and it was a shame that you were going to be working with guy because if not, you certainly would've liked to go on a date or two with him. In fact you really couldn't date the guy because there probably was something in those damn company policies that say you can't date your co-workers. This did seem like the sort of establishment that would have something like that in place, with the staff mainly being teenagers and all.

"Ahoy m'lady! Didn't see you there! Would you like to set sail on this ocean of flavour with me? I'll be your captain. I'm Steve Harrington. " The guy said enthusiastically with a smile. It was the sort of smile you could tell made girls swoon however this was not the time nor the place. "Can I get you a little taste of the Cherries Jubilee, it's delicious."

"I'm sure it is Steve Harrington but I'm not a customer. I'm the new manager." You explain, walking round the counter, running a finger across it an inspecting it just to see how he'd react.

"But you're like young." He says, an adorable confused expression on his face.

"What and you have to be a pensioner to be a manager? It's an icecream shop for Christ's sake."

You walk into the back room where the girl, who was also quite attractive, came over. Clearly she hadn't yet noticed you because she continued to talk to the Steve guy in a casual manner.

"So how did the flirting go- why's she back here."

"This is the new manager..." Steve explains turning to you to supply some sort of name.

"Y/n, y/n l/n."

"Right yeah well this is Robin." He huffs, causing you to inwardly smile.

"Pleasure." You say, purposefully reaching across Steve to shake Robins hand just to wind him up a bit. While you might not be able to date the guy, a little teasing never did anyone any harm

"I can show you around if you want." Robin offers with a smirk, glancing at Steve to see his annoyed expression.

"Sure that would be great thanks." You say, walking towards Robin as she leads you further into the supply room. Turning before the door closes you say, "Oh and Steve, you need to put your hat back on, company policy and all that."
