This one mentions death and stuff

June 25th 1983 - The day you met Eddie Munson had been so ordinary that it would have been easily forgettable if it had not had been for one simple event. Until this day you hadn't really known much of this Eddie Munson besides some rumours involving satanism and him being a  drug dealing freak. You did know that it was during sophomore year and Eddie was a Junior.

It had been raining all day in fact it still was. Your older brother was supposed to be driving you home from school but he had once again ditched you for his weird basketball playing friends and left you stranded in the cold. That's when Eddie rolled up in this crusty looking van offering you a ride home. Now you knew that getting into  vehicle with a person you barely knew was a terrible idea, but you couldn't feel you limbs anymore and he was hot so what was the worst that could happen.

While the car journey had started off in silence (apart from the loud music Eddie was blaring) you soon found yourself easing into some very fun conversation. There was just something about Eddie that made you always feel comfortable and safe, like you could tell him anything. When you finally pulled up in front of your house (you told him where  you live he's not stalking you that your aware of) you couldn't help but feel like you didn't want to leave. Leaving meant that there was a high chance you'd never speak to Eddie again, and you really really didn't want that.

June 25th 1985 - You and Eddie were both now seniors (Eddie having to repeat the year) and you couldn't be more in love. Falling in love with Eddie was like falling a sleep, slowly then all at once. You didn't even realise it was happening but here you were, a couple of 14 months. While it may seem unhealthy, the two of you were joint at the hip. Being with Eddie opened you up to so many new possibilities and showed you a whole new way of life.

June 25th 1987 - By this point you had both long since left Hawkins and were starting anew. You were both going after your dreams, crampt up together in the worlds tiniest apartment with no money and absolutely no prospects.

It was warm for June, really warm and the two of you were sprawled across the thread-bare in your underwear. It was the kind of warm that was suffocating to you and the two of you could barely focus enough to share a coherent conversation together.

"I really wanna marry you." He said randomly so randomly that it caught you entirely by surprise. You'd be lying if you said you hadn't thought about marrying Eddie but in all honesty you never thought he would be the type to marry. He seemed to carefree but you didn't mind that. You were happy enough just to know the guy. While you had never properly discussed it, it didn't stop you from yelling yes and jumping on top of the poor boy, thoughts of being too warm were long forgotten.

June 25th 1889 - The whole wedding thing really wasn't your thing. Ever since you had told people of your engagement your mother had been in full blown wedding mode. She was planning everything and wasn't taking heed to yours and Eddie's wishes. In all honestly you didn't want a wedding, at least not a big one. In your mind you just wanted a small ceremony with the people you cared about by your side.

However, your mother decided to invite everyone person you'd ever had an interaction with. Old babysitter? Would be there. Window cleaner? Was looking forward to the free food. Your mums third cousins twice removed's neighbour? Couldn't wait.

You hated.

You hated it so much that you kept pushing the wedding back. Dreading the thought of having to stand up in front of literal strangers and profess your love to each other. Eddie could see your stress and he knew just what was going on in your mind.

Together, with the help of the party of course, he whisked you off to a chapel in the middle of nowhere where you could elope. While it wasn't ideal (and you knew your mum would be pissed) it was literally perfect.

It was perfectly simple with Dustin as the best man and Steve and Robin as your bridesmaids. It was quick, no fuss and there was an all you could eat Chinese across the road, it almost made you wonder why people didn't get married like this more often.

Eddie, on the other hand, swore before that he wouldn't get all sappy and shit but the sight of you was just too much. He couldn't believe how lucky he was. That someone like him could end up with someone like you. that you had stuck by his side through all the shit over the last few years. That you finally were free to do whatever you wanted.

June 25th 1991 - You were running but not because of exercise. You were late to the grand opening of your own café. While you had intended on going to college after saving money from your mediocre job, you instead decided to follow a whim and open up a cute little tea shop on the edge of town.

You never made it though. You got hit by a car skipping a red light, struck down in your prime at the ripe old age of 23. While Eddie was stuck at your café, wondering where you were, you were being carted off in an ambulance fighting for your life.

It was 2 hours before the police came. He knew something wasn't right but when he saw the police car pull up he felt the world stop. He couldn't even remember what they were saying to him. He just knew he needed to see you.

When you came out of your first surgery he was there to hold your hand. He was there to cheer you up with random stories. He was there to make fun off the stupid day time tv shows or to fetch you tissues when you started crying over the whole thing. He even held you as the doctor told you about the bleed on the brain, as she explained to you that you would be needing a very complicated surgery.

He hid his fear as you made the decision to take the risk. He offered you goofy little smiles as they prepared you for the operation. He even walked beside you right up to that red line that would separate him from you for the next 14 hours. He gave you your final kiss. He said his last I love you and he made his last promise to you. He even stood and watched you as your rolled further and further away from him.

It was a long wait.

A really long wait.

But he did it. He sat in that uncomfortable plastic chair and for the first time in his life he found him self wishing to whoever could hear him taht you would be okay. That you survive so that he could have his future with you. So that one day you could actually run your business. So that one day you could by your own proper house. So that one day he could go to college and graduate with you watching him proudly. So that one day you could start your own family where he could teach them to play guitar or D&D and you could so them how to bake or stand up for themselves. He hoped that one day you could get your happily ever after.

But one day never came.

June 25th 2022 - At the age of 66, Eddie Munson died of a heart attack (he really didn't know how to look after himself without you) . He never remarried. He never moved on, despite knowing its what you would've wanted. Instead he spent the next 31 years running your little café just the way you wanted it to be. He even got the cat you'd always wanted and named it after you favourite food.

With him finally being able to be reunited with you, he felt whole. He found his missing piece. He found his happily ever after.

Finally one day could come.
