The relationship you had with Eddie was complicated to say the least. You went from hating each others guts, to ignoring each other, to thinking the other is stupid, to kinda friends, lab partners, friends the to whatever you were now. Sure you still took the piss out of each other but now there was this weird vibe. A sort of odd tension that lingered between the two of you. You often caught Eddie looking at you in an odd sort of way and you noticed an increase in jokes about him dating you.
It's not that you didn't like Eddie because you did. You put past you the childish sort of rivalry you've had since you were kids and now were friends in a way. You were a member of the Hellfire Club, your best friend was a member of Eddie's band and you sat next to the guy in half of your classes (at least the ones he bothered to show up for).
You weren't stupid enough to deny the fact that you found him attractive because you did. Sure the whole rocky, long hair, leather jacket thing didn't do it for most people but you shockingly found it insanely attractive. And sure, sometimes you would look at him and just imagine briefly what it would be like to run your hands through his hair or what it might fell like to kiss the guy. But that doesn't mean you like him.
It wasn't long until some of guys picked up on the weirdness that seemed to circle the two of you. In fact one evening after a meeting of the Club, you found yourself cornered by Dustin, one of the team members you'd grown closest to.
"Do you have a thing for Eddie?" He asked in that demanding sort of tone.
"What no." You defended. Why would you like Eddie? He's loud and weird and wears too many jackets. Yet for some reason the accusation caused your cheeks to flush and your words to become scrambled.
"Yeah you do you, you like him." The boy concludes. You laugh, hoping it would disguise so of your awkward weirdness because surely you acting all weird about the subject is only going to make him think that you like Eddie and you don't like Eddie so you can't let him think that. Right?
"Like him? Yeah right I can barely hold back my puke just by looking at him."
"Then why did you spend the whole campaign ogling at him."
"I wasn't ogling I was just invested in the plot." You rationalise, turning your attention to packing up your belongings so you can escape this over observant child. "I'm an avid listener."
"Sure thing y/n, if you insist."
Finally he gives up and leaves with this annoying knowing smirk on his face. But there's nothing for him to know because there is no way in hell that you like Eddie Munson.
You still think about the interaction as you lay in your bed later that night. You were trying to sleep but for some reason you just couldn't. You felt conflicted, confuse dover the whole scenario. You never thought of Eddie as more of a friend because that's all he was, your friend. Then again there was a time when you only thought of Eddie as your enemy and now look where you are.
Deciding you need answers and knowing full well you weren't thinking rationally (and were going to regret your future actions forever) you get up to confront Eddie yourself. You can't help but wonder if Eddie thinks you like him and what if that made things weird. You just needed to clear the air and tell him you simply weren't interested in anything more than friendship ever. And so you hop on your bike and cycle to the trailer that is currently the Munson residence.
You knock on the door only to be greeted by the sight of Eddie. He looked exactly as he had done earlier but his jackets were long gone and his long-sleeves had been pushed back to reveal his forearms. Not entirely sure why but for some reason the sight of you friends arms made you feel weak in the knees. This surely isn't normal.
Muttering your apologies, Eddie lets you into the trailer. Saying how the place is a mess and quickly rearranging various bits and pieces, throwing rubbish into the bin, etc in an attempt to make the place look cleaner. He apologises profusely for the mess which only made you laugh.
After some brief small talk you carefully explained the reasoning for your visit. You told him of your conversation with Dustin and how you didn't want for the wrong impression to be given. That you knew that there was no way of him fancying you and that you would never be anything more than friends.
"What makes you think that princess?" He interrupts, taking a step away from the table he was leaning on and walking closer to you, "what if I do 'like' you?"
You were speechless, gobsmacked even. Surely he was just playing around, being his typical Eddie self with his goofy little jokes. This was a joke, right?
He continue sto move towards you, eyes focaused solely on yiu like a preditor stalking its prey. You couldn't help but swallow nervously, the tension so thick that breathing just wasn't possible right now.
"Come on sweetheart what if I actually did want to date you?" You look up and he's stood right in front of you and you can't for the life of you figure out how he managed to cover that distance so quickly. Your ability to form words just seemed to sort of stop. You could barely control your breathing let alone string together a coherent sentence.
His hand reaches up to you hair, playing with a loose strand of it mindlessly as his eyes stare into yours. So much freaking eye contact and the hair twirling and the close proximity. Man this guy was too much. You couldn't help but wonder whether he could tell how this was making you feel, what this was doing to you.
"What if I wanted to kiss you, hmm?" His breathe fans out across your face setting your nerves on fire. You actually have to close your eyes because this whole thing was just too intense but they soon opened wide when he said, "Do you want me to kiss you?"
Yes. No. Yes but also no. You were at a crossroads. First of all this could be one big elaborate joke and Eddie could just be messing with you. Secondly, you could be a horrible kisser, after all you never really practiced it before. Three, he was hot as hell and you probably had never felt this turned on in the presence of guy, in fact you didn't think you could get turned on. Four, you are friends and this would be weird. You can't date, that would just affect the whole dynamic with Hellfire and probably cause all sorts of shit between you and the guys.
This was hard.
Actually no.
Fuck it.
You slam your lips into his which no doubt caused him some shock despite being the one who made the proposition in the first place. The two of you kinder stumbled ta first from the sheer force of the movement but eventually, once the fear wears off and he gathers his bearings, the two of you are full on kissing. And it was awesome.
Why hadn't you done this before, it was is fun and from what you could tell you weren't bad at it either. Eddie was clearly a lot more experienced but personally it seemed like you were absolutely rocking the whole making out thing.
After quite the passionate make out session, the two of you eventually settled on having a date the following evening. Nothing fancy, just watching a movie at yours with some take out. Nonetheless you were both ecstatic, especially when Eddie admitted that he was the one who had put Dustin up to the while interrogation style thing and that he in fact had because crushing on you for many a year. Dude bullied you in because he thought you were cute, which while seems sweet was kind of duchey but you chose to overlook it for now.
Anyhow, you were excited. You had a date with your friend who you hadn't thought of dating before and you were all round happy with the situation. For once you were happy of your overactive mind forcing you to come out here in the dead of night.
