Ava.

The ride was quiet. Needless to say, I would rather be back in the castle than sit across from Silas when he kept glaring at me constantly. I don't know what his problem is. If he didn't want to be here, he should have said so. I would be happy if the plan is cancelled.

Throughout the ride, to God knows where I kept peeping out of the window seeing that we were going through some woods making my palms sweat.

"Look Esmeray", I said sarcastically, "your wish has come true. They are going to kill us."

- I never said that.

I narrow my eyes at her knowing very well that she is lying.

"So, you never said, they are vampires so why waste blood. They'll probably bleed us dry."

- it was a joke, Ava.

I was about to reply but Aiden cleared his throat beside me, making me look at him.

"Are you okay?" His brows were furrowed as he looked all over my face.

"Yes. Why are you asking like that?"

"Because I called for you twice and you didn't answer." Oh. Blame it on Esmeray. "Are you sure you are fine? We can turn back and get the doctor if you are not feeling well."

I was about to speak when Silas spoke up. "Probably banging your head to the ground caused you to lose your hearing as well." He remarked with a smirk.

I bit back my remark, reminding myself to whom I was talking. I can't say something back to him knowing he could kill me in a second. Right now, I just have to concentrate on surviving enough to escape. Ignoring him, I looked out of the window.

"He didn't mean that," Aiden said making me inwardly roll my eyes. Of course, he meant it. Why wouldn't he? And why on earth is Aiden sticking up to him.

"Are you excited?"

I turn towards him and something stern within me when I see a smile on his face. One vampire which is too kind and one who is a pain in the ass.

I just give him a mindless nod, not speaking any word or reaching to meet his eyes. Nervously, I started fiddling with the black cloak and drawing small patterns with my finger across it.

"Are you not going to ask where we are going?" I hear him continue. I just want to go back home and I know reminding them that is not the easiest part for me.

I look at him from the corner of my eye and shake my head. I don't feel like talking.

The last time I had a decent conversation with him, I ended up being snapped at. I don't want that to happen. I would rather keep my mouth shut and go along with what is happening.

I could sense that Aiden didn't like my reply when he let out a sigh. I didn't look at either of them and kept my gaze peering out of the window. It was snow everywhere. The street lights shining on the ice. Tall trees surrounded the area and it itched me to open the window and breath the fresh air. But Aiden had said no. He said that it would not be good for my health. They probably want me to be warm before they bleed me dry.

The carriage came to a halt making me look at Aiden's side of the window. I gasped when I saw a market. I didn't expect them to take me to a flea market. The door opened and Silas got out followed by Aiden. Scooting near the exit, Aiden reached out to my arm as he helped me down the steps.
