IMPORTANT.

I would like to remind you guys that this is a fantasy book meaning there will be my rules. It won't be always like the human world. Some things may look different.

So therefore, it is not placed in a specific year line. It may have a few modern and a few historical contexts.

That's all. Enjoy!

Ava.

I screamed seeing the invader who hovered over me, not moving an inch. I shrieked louder wishing for someone to hear me and come to help.

Or are they doing this on purpose?

They are vampires. Creatures who feed on blood and I am no exception to that. My heart thumps loudly against my chest and my sleep is long forgotten.

"Get off!" I keep yelling. The vampire above me just tilts his head to the side as if not able to understand my words.

He didn't look human, not like what Aiden or Merida looked. What is he then? Bloodshot eyes, the portion of white looking almost black. Veins were visible from his neck as he looked down at me, not uttering a single word.

"P-please." I cry out.

My chest heaved up and down as he pushed his body down making me press myself more into the mattress.

"Scared are you?" He taunts sending shivers down my spine. I couldn't capture much of him because of the darkness but he surely was a man.

I nod my head not wanting any trouble. "J-just leave, don't hurt me."

My soul almost left my body when he buried his face in my neck, inhaling deeply. I held my breath not knowing what to do as tears slipped down my face.

I was too scared to push him right now not wanting him to snap my neck in two. I fisted my sheets when I felt something cold against my neck. I had to suppress my moan and I almost reasoned my existence at this point.

What the hell is happening?

I freeze when he lets out a chuckle and faces me almost brushing our lips. I close my eyes not wanting to catch a glimpse of him.

"I'd never hurt you." That's all that he said making me snap my eyes open and I let out a gasp when I see his fangs.

Screaming, my eyes shoot open once again as sweat covered my back and forehead. My eyes were almost blinded as they meet with the fireplace across me.

It was just a dream.

Tears of panic and frustration fight to escape but I hold them in. Not wanting to cry over a pathetic nightmare. I put my face in my palms, massaging my cheeks and rubbing my watery eyes. Letting out a shaky breath I examine the room making sure no one is there.

The curtains sway as the cold airbrushing by them. Why is it so cold? But my confusion intensified when I saw it was still dark outside. Not a ray of sunshine peeling from the clouds. It wasn't midnight, I could tell. I don't know how though.

There was a knock on the door making my head nap in its direction. "Lady Ava, are you awake?" I heard Merida from across the door.

Clearing my throat, I answered making her walk inside with a bright smile. I furrowed my brows at her energy. Why is she so energetic?

"Master has told you to join him and his majesty for breakfast. So let's get you ready, miss." She says as she sprints into the bathroom and after a few minutes I hear the water running. So it was morning. Then why is it still dark outside?
