Ava

"Aiden!" I banged on the door with my fists not caring about my sore hands. "Let me out! I'm sorry!"

"A-Aiden!" My breathing sharpened as tears streamed down my face. My heart thumping loudly in my chest making me heave for breaths. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

I don't even know if he is outside but I kept calling for him. My throat hurts as I pull on the doorknob.

"Let me explain, please!"

My head starts to pound, making me let out a groan. Esmeray surfaces as irritation runs over me. I wish to itch. Everywhere. I feel uncomfortable in my skin. 

I get on the floor, hands and knees as I let out another pained moan. 

-Ava? You need to give me the control. You are shifting.

I looked down at my hands and they indeed were turning into claws. Black fur instead of skin. And that's how I started panicking. 

It was not difficult to give Esmeray control. I let out soft pants and groans here and there. Whimpering when my back arches. I let out a loud cry, stretching my body, my nails scratching the wood.

I heard the door open making me let out a happy whimper. 

Aiden came. He will let me explain. He knows I love him. And I blacked out.

I groan feeling all cold. Opening my eyes, I find myself in a stone cell. All gray and I struggle to get on my feet. Panicking, I look around and a sense of relief washes over me, seeing a small window the size of my head. 

The metal door opens up making me snap my head in that direction but all I see is dizziness for moving too fast.

Why am I here? Did they put me here? In the dungeons? No, they wouldn't. Would they?

But when the scent hits me I back away. I try to get on my feet but the pain is too much making me stay on all fours. I let out my best growl and to my shock, it was not my voice. It was Esmeray's.

"Does it hurt?" I shiver when I hear a familiar voice chuckle.

I growl again making him laugh, mocking me. 

"Did you think one of your mates came?" I try my best to move, to leave but my bones hurt. "They left to go back to Vamperian a few minutes ago."

That can't be true. They won't do that. I know them, they won't leave without me. Right? I push my body back seeing the pale white eyes crouch down in front of me. 

Lord, he looks so different now. All pale skin almost as if he was a ghost. I don't even know if there is any flesh and it looks mostly like bones. Skin sticking to bones.

"It hurts the first time Ava and it takes a few hours for the bones to get strong to just walk let alone run," I growl making him snicker. "Oh, how easy it is, I wish I had done this back nineteen years ago." 

I flinch when he grabs my hand-paw and pulls hard making me let out a pained howl. He nears my face, and all humor washed from his face. 

"Don't take it personally Ava, it was never supposed to be you but you see, my court is very greedy and that messed up the night I was planning to take your mother." My heart drops at his words. "You see, Verina had quite the hate for your mother, and being her only lover, I took it upon myself to remove her from existence. Can't deny your mother surely was a piece to look at but you are no different and I dare say, you look even better than her. All young and fresh to be taken."
