Silas (5 years old)

I ran through the garden, opening my arms as I brushed past the grass. 

From a distance, I could see my home where mommy and daddies were. I was told to come in half an hour so, I still have ten minutes.

I giggled as I saw two small birds playing with each other as they fly. Swerling and chasing as they babble in their language. 

But then my eyes land on a flower. A particular flower that I had never seen in our garden. It was pink and white with long petals. 

Momma loves pink.

And just like that I plucked it and ran back to the castle ignoring my brother's curious looks. I was getting out of breath and I wished I could run fast like daddies do but they say I am still young.

I calm my breath as I stand outside their room and try to hide my nerves. Mommy was upset with me; I didn't know why but maybe this will make her happy.

She will smile at me for once.

I knocked on the door and I heard her say to come in making me reach out to the nob and open the door.

Peaking inside I saw mommy with my younger sister, Feyre. They both were reading, more like mommy reading it out to Feyre. She was only two and very chubby. She had cute dimples.

"Mommy?" I called out and I looked up to see her.

She was not facing me yet but I admired her brown long hair which reached her waist. Hesitantly, I tugged her gown to bring her attention but instead of seeing her smile, she shot me an annoyed look.

Oh, she doesn't look happy. 

Is it the wrong time?

-Go on, show her the flower. 

I brought up my hand to show her the flower I plucked out for her.

"What?" She snapped making my breath caught up in my throat.

"I-I brought you a flower." I bounced on my heels trying not to get scared.

She leveled her head to mine looking between the flower and me. "For me?"

I nodded thinking that I was doing the right thing when she smiled.

A fake smile. 

Just like that the flower was crumbled under her fingers as she crushed them and I could feel my chest filling with sadness.

"B-but you like p-pink." My lower lip wobbled and the next thing I knew I felt a stinging sensation on my cheek as my body hit the ground.

I cried out when she pulled me up my arm in a harsh grip, her nails digging into my skin. My vision started to get blurry as water filled in my eyes.

I heard some noise in the back as if someone was yelling but I heard nothing other than my own cries.

"Look what your pathetic son brought me." I heard her familiar laughter. Cruel laughter as she threw me away.

Feyre started crying making my heart break but her cries soon faded. 

"Verina what is going on!?" I heard daddy say making me blink a couple of times.
