(3 years later)

Ava.

I let out a groan as I stretched in my chair. I was in Aiden's office, working on some paperwork. How times have changed.

I remember, I was learning about the kingdom on this very desk and now I sign legal agreements between kingdoms and queendoms. Mostly my work for the crown is looking to see if any people have difficulties and if they do, we sort it out.

Both Cassius and Aiden are doing great. Cassius has worked upon his words which he had said to his people. They are very happy now, guaranteed security and peace.

They took the knowledge of me being their queen as a hope for peace between the wolverine and the vamperian kingdom. They all cheered upon us during my coronation and the people love their rulers.

I do visit my fathers every now and then, though the first few meetings were awkward and wary but it all turned out great in the end. I met my brothers, Perseus, Erix and Ryuu. The first two brothers were kind and protective if one compared them to Ryuu who was more laid back.

He lives with Feyre and what I have heard from Cassius, she lives Wolverine with Ryuu. I was heartbroken when I heard what happened to her other mate. He was an army soldier and his death was due to an attack from an assassin. He was a werewolf too.

Oliva had given birth to a son who was now three years old. From what Oliva said, having children for species like us is very rare and therefore it needs proper planning and timing.

We haven't talked much about me getting pregnant though. I know both Aiden and Cassius would be over the moon if they became fathers. We have talked about what it would be like and I know they are slowly hinting to know my reaction to it.

I jumped in my seat when there was a loud crash in the corridor. Furrowing my brows, I took in my surroundings hearing nothing other than cool night breeze.

Anything suspicious?

-No.

I let out a sigh and walked towards the door and then found myself inspecting the empty hallways. My heels clicking on the marble stone below my feet.

"Aiden?" Yes, his name is the first when it comes to chaus. Though I would have called for Calix if he was not now living in the dragon realms. "Aiden, are you there?"

I called out for my mates through the mate bond but no one replied. I can feel their presence and this was just complete ignorance.

I walked to the stairs, finding the castle oddly quiet. Shaking my head, I went to walk in another hallway when my hands flew up to my mouth in surprise when I found Cassius standing silent at the end of the hallway.

"Goddess, Cassius!" I gasped. "You scared me."

He was wearing his usual council clothes. Black shirt and knee length coat embroidered with gold. His eyes are black and red with tattoos all over his arms and wings tucked behind his back.

He didn't move, he didn't say a single word or even blink. He tilted his head to the side oddly and then with a flap of the wings, all the fire torches were out leaving only moon light peeking out.

The pale glow of the moon was enough to highlight his silhouette but the rest of the hallway was completely dark.

I took a breath in, hearing footsteps behind me making me turn to find nothing but empty blackness. I snapped my head back to find Cassius was not where he was, making my heart pick up a beat.
