Apparently, Ann had grossly overestimated the time it'd take for her to walk there.  she found herself at the family video after an hour and twenty minutes of walking. Her feet were sore, and she was in desperate need of some water.

As she entered the store and the bell chimed, Ann had never been so glad to see Robin Buckley's face.

"Ann!" Robin exclaimed loudly, a smile spreading on her face, "What are you doing here so late? Shouldn't you be home?" she asked, curious. And she was probably right about being curious, because being out this late was totally out of character for the blonde.

"Can I please get some water first?" Ann said, mouth dry, as she slumped against the video store's counter. "I walked all the way here."

"Steve!" yelled Robin, cupping her hands over her mouth, "Bring me a big glass of water now, please!"

From the back store, she could hear Steve sigh loudly and the sound of the faucet running. Soon enough, Steve Harrington was making his way to the front desk and raised an eyebrow when he noticed the girl hunched over their counter.

"I'm guessing this is for you, then?" he said, putting the glass in front of the girl.

She nodded rapidly and picked it back up as soon as Steve let it go, downing half of it not even in a second.

Robin signalled for her to make her way to the other side of the counter, patting a free chair as Steve stood next to robin, leaning against the wooden countertop.

"So," Robin started, scooting her chair a little bit closer to the Ann's. "Why'd you decide to walk all the way here? What happened"

Ann groaned and leaned back in the old chair, letting her hair dangle in the air behind her. "My parents are being complete asshats again, Robbie." She said, "It's the same story again, I can't apply to the university I want to, and I have to do everything they want, as always." She explained to robin as Steve listened. He probably knew the basics of Ann's situation; robin mentioned she had told Steve because his parents had done kind of a similar thing to him.

"I just don't know what to do anymore," groaned Ann, "I just want to go to college for something I like, so that I don't end up like my father and live an absolutely miserable life."

"You do as they say right? Like you listen to them and act like a good daughter?" asked Steve. Robin turned to look at him and suddenly grinned

"You're a genius Steve!" she said loudly to her friend, as she moved to stare at the now confused girl. "You stop listening to them!" she finished saying for Steve.

Ann squinted her eyes at the duo in front of her and Steve stepped away from the desk, coming closer to the girls. "If you always do what they want and behave how they want you to behave, just don't!"

Ann looked at the two for a while, silent. "So, I just... rebel?" she asked, unsure.

Steve and Robin looked at each other and grinned, "exactly!" they said in unison.

"I mean, it could work, if they try to corner me about why I'm acting out I can just give them 'the deal', you let me go to Bloomingdale and I return back to normal." She said, starting to smile, "talking obviously won't work, and I've exhausted every other pacifist option!"

The trio inside the family video laughed and after finally finding a solution, robin changed the topic to a weird customer they'd seen earlier that day.
