When she arrives home, her mother hasn't even noticed the car had been gone, still dressed in the same thing she was wearing earlier and watching the news talk about Eddie.

The rest of the night is a blur. Ann waits for the phone to ring, for Eddie or for Nancy to call. Sitting at her desk, the hours go by.

The following day, she was slumped on the plastic chair, still wearing yesterday's clothes. Downstairs, she can hear her mother talking to someone at the door.

She slowly made her way downstairs, combing through her hair.

From her front porch, Jason and his friends talked to her mom, "it's been nice talking to you, miss Hopkins, if- Oh well, look who's up!" Jason enthusiastically said.

"What's going on here?" Ann asked, standing beside her mother now. Having Jason on her front steps was a lot more concerning than the police. If he was coming here, he was up to no good.

"Your friends here want to take you out to a ceremony they're holding for Chrissy. Jason was her boyfriend, and the police told him she unfortunately passed." Her mother said, putting the girl's shoes at her feet.

"Yeah, Ann. We can have a friendly chit-chat on the way, right?" added Jason.

As she walked outside, flanked by the basketball boys, she could see her mother smiling and waving. Ann cursed out Jason under her breath.

Once in the car, Jason sat on the driver's side and angled himself to see Ann, who was seated between Lucas Sinclair, Dustin's friend, and another basketball team member.

"So, Hopkins. Heard from Eddie?" he asked her as soon as all the doors were shut.

"Straight to the point, are you? Why are you even looking for him? That's the police's job." She told him, sinking back into her seat.

"I want to talk to him, have a conversation. Make him turn himself in. I'm doing this to avenge Chrissy." He said, turning the car on. "His little cult member Gareth told me you could know where he was. I see you don't, but maybe if we keep you with us, he'll be tempted to turn himself in."

"Are you absolutely bat-shit insane? Are you threatening my safety so he'll come out of hiding?" she exclaimed, sitting straighter now.

"I'm doing the strictly necessary. He has to turn himself in, and nothing will happen to you." He explained, pulling out of her driveway.

"Let me out. I don't want to come with you." Ann demanded, but the doors locked just as she was about to reach over Sinclair and pull on the handle. "This is kidnapping. I'll tell the police I'm being held against my will. You're making a grave mistake here, Carver."

"Sit down, Hopkins." He said sternly, "we're going to Henderson's house, and you're sticking with us until we've got the freak."

"You're the freak here." Spat Ann, crossing her arms and looking out the window on Sinclair's side.
