"You can just hang out in the room for the duration of the meeting, you know? I'll drop Dustin off and then you." Said Eddie, who was doodling on a white corner on Ann's notebook during the break.

"Are you sure? I don't want to distract any of you while you guys play." She replied, closing her book.

"Don't worry if you're a bother I'll just lock you in the supply closet with the brooms we use to clear cobwebs" he snickered, looking up at her.

"Hey! With the brooms? I can't even get an empty supply closet?" she said, playing along.

"Sure, I'll clear it out, just for you." He continued, rolling his eyes "But anyway, I'll come get you after your last period, and we can go to the club room together."

"Alright, alright I'll go to the meeting." She said, snatching her notebook back "stop doodling in my things, at least use a blank page."

The bell rung the next second and Eddie stood up, sticking his tongue out at the girl before smirking, "but where's the fun in that, Hopkins!"

She didn't even have time to retort before he got up and left, waving at her.

She rolled her eyes and looked at the random doodles in her margins. Little stars and his band's logo and some other stuff on theme. She was pulled out of her head when a boy scoffed from behind her.

"Can't believe you're frolicking with Eddie the freak Munson." Said Jason from behind the girl "right guys?" He added, looking at his little basketball clique that shared the class with Ann.

"I think who I date isn't any of your business, Jason." She added, putting a hand on the back of her chair as she turned around to glare at him "can you stay out of my stuff?"

"I know so many guys who would have dated you if you just told me. You were that desperate for dick, huh?"

Ann gasped, but before she could even get up and walk the short distance to his desk, robin interrupted them, slamming her hand on Jason's desk. "I don't care what you think but don't talk about her like that. If I hear any rumors of the kind about Ann or Eddie, I'll know who to blame." She said slowly removing her hand from his desk.

Ann waited for Robin to be done before she gestured to the girl to sit down and looked back at Jason. "Wouldn't it be a shame for your dad to lose his job? My dad wouldn't be happy to hear his director has a son who's spreading these kinds of rumors about me, right? About his only, precious daughter?" She said, slowly and clearly. "I don't think you've forgotten who I was, right?"

From her seat next to Ann robin smirked and nodded in agreement, crossing her arms over her chest. "Would be a shame, really." She added, in agreement with Ann.

Jason froze, mouth open and backed down, looking away from the two. Ann stood straight and sat back at her desk, smirking "that's what I thought." She whispered as the teacher walked into the class and told everyone to settle down, pulling out papers and setting them on the desk.

Robin held out her hand for a high five, and Ann hit her hand as she smiled at the short haired girl, mouthing a "thank you"

Robin scooted closer to the blonde and whispered "I think you had it under control. Annie, you really put him in his place, I think"

From the front of the class, the teacher sighed and crossed her arms. "Girls, I'm starting the class, a little quiet?" She spoke.

The rest of the day went by smoothly after that and at the end of the day, Ann stood outside her last class. The hallway was crowed and on her tip toes, she tried looking over the crowd to see if Eddie was there. Someone did catch her attention, but it wasn't her Eddie, it was Chrissy.

From where she stood in the hallway, Ann could already tell something was wrong with her. She looked like she'd been crying, and she was visibly trembling.

She was taking the firsts steps towards the girl's direction when a calloused hand wrapped itself gently around her wrist and turned her around.

"Hey, you ready to go?" said Eddie, looking at Ann who had turned away from him, eyes stuck towards the other end of the hallway. "Ann?"

Th girl turned around slowly and slid her wrist out of the taller boy's hands and instead slid her hand comfortably in his, as if she'd been doing it for years.

"Yeah, hi," she said, her attention coming back to the boy, "sorry, I thought I saw my friend upset, but I think I saw her boyfriend at her locker, I'm sure she'll be fine."

"Do you want to go see her?" Eddie said, slipping Ann's bookbag strap off her own shoulder and hiking it onto his own.

"No, I don't want you to be late to the meeting, you said you had to set up, right?" she said, tugging him away from the locker wall and into the general direction she thought the clubroom would be in.
