"We've been walking for ages now. Aren't you tired?" the blonde girl asked Eddie as the two of them walked side by side.

"I'm fine. I like walking better than being chased by Jason and his basket buddies," replied Eddie.

"Don't get me started on Jason," Ann grumbled as she crossed her arms and looked at the ground.

"What? Did he do something to you?" a suddenly concerned Eddie questioned the girl.

"I- it doesn't matter. I should be asking you about what happened with Jason, he followed you into-" Ann replied, quickly trying to steer the subject away from her.

"Hey, what did Jason do?" Interrupted Eddie, who saw through Ann's attempt at changing the subject. "Tell me," He continued, putting a ring-clad hand on her shoulder.

The girl paused for a second before sighing, "Well, he was looking for you. He visited a bunch of places and eventually, he came to my house. My mother answered the door and well, he said he was hosting a 'Close friend get-together' for Chrissy and that he could bring me there, and she told me to go, so I didn't have any choice, really."

"He's a dirtbag. If I ever see him again, he's eating my fist." The long-haired boy said, dropping his hand from Ann's shoulder.

"Anyway, and then he just brought me along to different places. Eventually, I and Sinclair stole his car and got the hell out of the woods and went to meet up with Dustin and the rest." Ann continued, the corners of her mouth curling up ever so slightly at Eddie's words. "I ran into him again at Chrissy's memorial, but I left as quickly as I could."

"I'm sorry that happened to you." He said, "If I hadn't run..."

"Stop. Don't even say the rest of that sentence. How is anything that happened your fault?" Ann spoke, cutting off the boy next to her. "This is just a big misunderstanding. We'll clear it up, and we'll be fine."

The pair continued to walk, the conversation stilling between them, a comfortable silence making its way between them.

"Can you hold this?" Eddie suddenly asked Ann as he held out his closed hand.

She held out her hand, palm open, "Yeah? What is it?" she replied, looking at him.

He opened his hand and flattened his on top of hers, large hands almost engulfing hers, and intertwined their fingers, swiftly bringing their hands back down, tugging Ann ever so slightly closer to him.

Ann giggled and leaned onto the boy's arm, "you could have just asked to hold my hand, you know." She told him with a smile, and Eddie just shrugged, a smirk on his face.

"Can I hold your hand, mademoiselle?" he jokingly asked, swinging their arms.

"Oui," Ann replied, smiling up at him.

"I hate couples." Suddenly said Dustin, who'd slowed down his pace and waited up for Ann and Eddie.

"What the fuck, you're literally in a relationship, Henderson?" remarked Eddie.

"It doesn't matter." The boy said, dismissing Eddie's comment. "You guys are gross."

"Alright, alright. Did you need something, Dustin?" asked Ann who was looking at the teen now walking next to her.

"Yeah actually. Ann, you're like, super smart, right?" bluntly put the boy. "Do you think you could maybe help me with Spanish? I had Suzie change my grade the other day, but she told me she regrets it and I need to do better on my own."

"You did what, Henderson?" Eddie exclaimed, "How did she do that, can you tell her to change mine too?"

"Stop it!" Ann interrupted the long-haired boy holding her hand and looked back at Dustin. "I can help you both, and no one needs to cheat or take advantage of poor Suzie's technological skillset!"

"Whoa, something's happening," said Dustin, who suddenly ran forwards

Eddie followed the boy, tugging Ann with him. "Dustin, can you slow down? Dustin!"

"Dustin!" Echoed Ann.
