-trigger warning-

She was adjusting quite well. For the past three days, she's gotten the hang of Hawkins High. She managed to keep up, and she got to walk around more, instead of moping.

"Hey."

She looked at him and gave him a smile.

"You again?" She joked.

"I know. It's like every class you have, I end up having too. Are you sure you didn't curse me or something?" He said, taking his chance to crack her up.

"The only subject I have where you're not around is History." She said.

"Oh, boo hoo. I can't learn history." He said, his voice changing to get into character.

Y/N shook her head with a smile. She adored spending time with Eddie. He was seriously funny. He somehow makes her forget about the trauma she has.

"How're you feeling about Hawkins so far?" He asked.

"Surprisingly beautiful town. Just...very weird people." She commented.

"In what sense is weird for you?" He asked her.

"You know...just how people see things." She said.

It's undeniably true. So many people find themselves gossiping about what they just see. It's annoying at times.

Y/N could hear them, girls usually gossiping about her. Boys mostly thinking of things much more weirder. She hated gossip. And hated it most when it was about her.

Especially when it's about Missouri.

As the class goes on and on, Y/N could just hear them, talking about her family's death as if they're in the room.

"I heard she totally left them to die."

"Imagine leaving your family to burn."

"I heard she started the fire to kill her sister."

How did they even get such information? They weren't there.

She could feel some of them staring at her, and she hated it. Her anxiety was all over the place.

"Y/N." Eddie called her, to which she turned to face him. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah...yeah, I'm fine." She replied.

Liar.

Eddie felt something was wrong. That something was bothering her. But he didn't ask. He wanted her to open up to him, not force it out of her.

As the bell rang, everyone got up to go to their next class. Y/N puts her stuff in her bag.

"I'll see you after your History class." Eddie said as he stood up and gave her a smile.

"See you, Eddie." She smiled at him as he left the room.

She walked down the halls, and she could hear so many people. Some of them gossiping about her, others saying that the gossip isn't true. Some were making out, some were playing games. Yup. Highschool.

She went in her History class and sat down. Everyone was looking at her. This girl named Ana, who she knew was kind of a bully, walked up to her.

"Hey, Y/N. I heard your family died in a fire." She said, her voice sounded as if she cared. She didn't.

"What's it to you?" Y/N asked.

"I'm sorry. I just hope your next family won't die the same." Ana said as she started to laugh. "Oh wait, maybe you'll drown them? For a change?"
