MELTING A WEREWOLF'S HEART

MISSION BEGINS 3

We rested during the day when we were tired. I had a good sleep. I was very exhausted from not sleeping in the night. Muin took out some breads and gave Ray and Raya. All three of them ate to their fill.

I heard someone tap me and I opened my eyes. I looked behind me. It was Ray. I stood up quickly.

"Sorry I disturbed your sleep." Ray looked really sorry.

I stood up and sat, resting my head behind the tree I slept.

"It's fine Ray. I was already waking up." I rubbed my hands on my face.

"You slept quite too long."

"Wow......how long?" I asked, surprised.

"Long enough to cover for two days." Ray chuckled.

When he's like that, that means he's right. I really slept that long.

"Thanks for waking me up."

"You should eat. You're hungry." My stomach rumbled immediately he said that.

He sat down close to me and brought the bread with a bottle of water.

"Have you eaten?" I asked as I opened the water and drank first.

"Yes. We already ate enough." Ray pointed at Muin and Raya. They were chatting and laughing.

I smiled seeing them. "Raya didn't sleep?"

"She did. Not too long though."

I started eating the bread and topping it with water.

"It's delicious." Ray commented.

I looked at him with surprise in my eyes. He comment on my food.

"Muin gave me the recipe."

"But your hands made it." He smiled at me.l and I smiled back.

He's being all nice today. Why? I rested my head on his shoulder and he placed his hand on my head. We didn't say anything, just silent.

"Okay okay. It's time to leave. Let's continue our journey. We're almost there." Muin shouted at us and we stood up quickly.

We packed out things and arranged back. I carried Raya on my arms this time and we started moving.

We walked down the hills and swam the rivers. We kept on walking and walking. I had enough strength in me as I just had a good rest and food.

Muin was in front of us, he collected Raya from me because he needed his friend and a gist mate.

"Raya's a good friend you know. She will always be with me." He said as he collected her.

I looked at Raya and she was looking at me. I remember how I really hated her in the past. This trip is really adventurous.

"Why?" I asked Ray as we walked.

"Why what?"

"You seem all nice and caring all if a sudden. Why?"

"Well......I just feel it's my duty to take care of my mate. You and your safety are my responsibility."

"Do you now accept me as your mate?" I looked at him with hopeful eyes.

Ray kept quiet. He didn't say anything.

I looked at his eyes. I really wanted to see the fear Muin saw in his eyes. I want to see it myself.

"You are my mate. Whether I accept it or not. The moon goddess her mated us together." He simply said.

I got angry with what he said.

'So he's just accepting me because the he has no choice. Why is he so irritated by me.' I thought.

"Say something."

"I'm pretty well sure you already heard all what I was going to say. Just when I thought things were gonna change." I tried walking forward but he dragged me back.

"Tell me Elena. What's wrong? I've been doing so many things to annoy you lately and I don't even know what I'm doing. You're not saying anything."

'Oh wow! He doesn't even know what he's doing.'

"So you don't even know what you're doing." I was already yelling. "Here I cry all day and night in pain and anger but you don't even know what you're doing. Damn you Ray. Damn you." I said and kept walking. Tears was already rolling down my cheeks.

I didn't go to Muin. I just walked in between then.

Sam brushed his hair back with his hands. He was clearly confused.

'Oh shit! I shouldn't have reacted like that. He's going through a phase right now as Muin said. I need to be softer and calmer with him.' I thought as I regretted my actions.

Muin never turned back too look at us, even though he heard me yell. He's leaving us to settle things ourselves.

I went back to walk with Ray. "I'm sorry." He said. "Look....I can say it a hundred times if you want. I'll say it as much as you want. Please just stop this tears. It hurts."

I cleaned my face and chuckled. He's really so naive and innocent. "Ray! It's not about apologizing or saying so many sorry. It's about knowing your mistake, admitting it and never doing it again. But you're just apologizing without knowing what you did. And yet, you keep on doing the same thing. What are you scared of?"

"What?" He asked.

"Yes. I know you're scared of something. You're holding back because of a reason. What is that"

Ray turned his face. This time, I really saw it. The fear in his eyes.

"Ray talk to me please. Why are you ashamed of looking at me?"

Ray kept quiet. His face, in another direction. He didn't want to say what was in his mind. But his reaction already proved it. He's hiding something.

"Are you ashamed because I'm a human? Because I won't be up the your standards as a werewolf? Because I'm not strong and immortal like you?"

"No Elena stop. It's not about you."

"Then what? Why am I being affected. Who's it about."

"It's me. Just me."

"What happened to you? What's wrong with you? Why are you scared because of you? You can't hurt me."

"I'm not scared if hurting you."

"Then what is it. Why aren't you telling me.? Why can't you trust me?"

"Stop saying those things Elena. I do trust you."

"Then why?"

"I'm not scared of you, I'm scared for you. I'm scared of leaving you okay." He yelled out his mind.

"Err......guys. We're there. We've reached our destination."
