THE NEW ALPHA

I woke up feeling very weak. It was a hot sunny afternoon. I looked around me. I was lying on a huge bed in a very big room. It was bigger than the one I was kidnapped in. My hands and head was bandaged. I was still in a slight pain but somehow, I felt refreshed.

I came down from the bed. "Ray!" I called out but no answer. I was walking towards the door when I stopped in front of the mirror. I looked at myself. I was really looking pale and weak. Very ugly.

I heard the door open and a maid came in.

"Good day ma'am. My name is Asha. I came to check on your health." She said, Bowing politely.

"Where is Ray?" I asked. I was feeling scared. 'Am I dreaming? Did they kidnap me again?' I thought.

"He is still very weak and asleep. He's lying on the hospital bed ma'am." She bowed slightly.

"Take me to him." I commanded.

"But ma'am. You are still very weak and..............."

"I know. Just take me to him. Please.......I won't rest until I see him." I pleaded.

"Yes ma'am." She said.

I saw Ray looking lifeless on the clinic bed. The hospital was still inside the palace. It was the palace hospital.

I ran up to him I shock. "Ray!" I shouted as I ran to him.

"He's totally out of danger. The Poison was retarded and we have given him blood. Now he just needs to wake up." The doctor reported.

I looked at him in tears. How much more will he suffer. I hope this is the end of it all. I didn't know if I should be happy he's out of danger or be sad he's still in this state. His wounds already healed.

"When will he wake up?" I asked still focusing on Ray.

"We don't know. It's up to seven days now he's been like this."

I looked at the doctor in total awe. "Seven days? Have I been sleeping for seven days?"

"Yes ma'am." I doctor replied and I was shocked.

No wonder I looked so ugly. I've neither eaten nor bath for seven days.

"Elena. You shouldn't be here." Muin entered.

His wounds already healed too. He was looking all new and strong.

"I came to see Ray." I stood up to him.

"I'm happy you are finally awake. But you still need to rest. Go to your room."

"His wounds already healed. Why is it taking long for him to wake up?" I ignored his orders.

"I don't know. But he surely will wake."

Muin and I were still talking when Ray moved. The nurse shouted that he moved abd we all turned to him. The doctor checked his vitals and assured us things are going fine.

"Wow! He's waking up." The doctor announced happily.

I went closer to him and knelt beside him. "Ray!" I called slowly and I saw his eyes move.

Slowly, Ray started opening his eyes. "Elena!" He called. It was more like a whisper but we all heard it.

"I'm here Ray. Look at me." I said with tears in my eyes.

Ray finally looked at me and smiled. "We did it right?" He asked.

"Yes Ray. We accomplished our mission." I said, holding his hands tight.

It's been a week now already. I dressed up and looked closer to the mirror. I was all grown up now. It's not too early for an eighteen years old to get married is it?

"Let's go. It's time." Ray came closer and hugged me from behind.

"I'm nervous." I admitted.

"You don't need to be. Just stand by my side." Ray calmed me and we left.

We are going to address the pack and announce their new alpha.

"Greetings to you dark moon pack." The beta started. "So much has happened in the span of two weeks. We have been redeemed, reborned, abd renewed. We are now in a new era as we welcome our now alpha."

Everybody roared in excitement as the door opened. Ray and I cane out in the open.

"I won't say anything. Because there is nothing to say. But I want you to know that, as a new alpha comes, we change the rules. We change the different ways of things. That's life. Nothing is constant. Just like that, I will also change a few things. We are a family. We look out for each other. We will work together and free ourselves from bondage." Ray gave a light speech and again, everyone roared.

"Also, I wand to make another announcement. A man is never complete without his woman. An alpha is never complete without his Luna. Welcome Elena......your Luna."

I was shocked hearing those words. I became nervous as I came closer to give a greeting speech.

"Dark moon pack. It's an honor to serve you as your new Luna. I remember two years ago, I was brought here for the same issue but it was in a very unfavourable Condition. Today, I am here again. I hope you all accept me."

"They have no choice. You don't need to hope." Ray said to me and I smiled.

"Let's all go to our various homes now. I have a lot to do." Ray dismissed everyone.

"I didn't expect that." I said as we walked to our room.

"We're going to your mum today. Change your clothes." Ray said and I stopped.

My......mum. I miss her a lot. This man cares co much about me. Thank you moon goddess. You have given me the right man. I hope my mum accepts him.

"Thank you " I said to him as we entered our room.

"For what?"

"For thinking about my mum."

"You don't need to thank me for that. It's my duty." He said and went to the shower.

This guy just says anything without thinking the impact it's giving. He doesn't know how beautiful it is for a man to care so much about a woman's family.

"Come let's take a shower." He came to drag me with him.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure." He said as he started taking off my clothes.

"How old are you?" Ray looked up at me with my question.

"250 years."

I looked at him in shock. '250?' I thought in my mind.

"Yes." He answered me, reading my thought. "Werewolves live long. Very long. They live for a really long time on earth because they don't die easily. Muin is more than 700years old now." I looked extra shocked hearing that. It was really surprising hearing that people live for that long. Well...... they're not humans. "Any more questions?"

"Why haven't you marked me?"

Ray stood up and looked at me. He looked into my eyes and held my hands. "I want to marry you first. Then I will mark you as mine."
