CONQUERING THE ENEMY

I was too eager to see my mum. I couldn't wait for Muin's plans to work. Ray was not sleeping beside me. He must have gone to meditate. I left my room immediately I woke up in the morning and went in search of my mum.

I snuck through every part of the palace. I slowly opened door after door but couldn't find her.

'Just a minute. Why am I the only one around? There are no guards or maids. I can't find Raya and Muin too. What's going on?' I thought as I looked around.

Then, I reached a room. The first thing  I saw was a similar bracelet of my mum. I entered the room and saw someone sleeping on the bed. It was not my mum. I went closer and she moved, waking up when she sensed my presence.

"Who are you?" She got scared immediately and stood up.

"My name is Elena." I said, still looking at her.

"Elena! Anabel..... Elena! You are Anabel's daughter?" She asked looking shocked at me.

"How do you know? Do we look alike so much?"

"Come. Sit here." She gestured for me to sit on the bed and I sat close to her. I didn't know why I felt warm around her. "Do you know where Anabel got your name from?"

"No."

"She got it from the suffix of her name. Anabel Elena. Anabelena."

"Wow....I never thought of that. How did you know?" I asked, amused.

"Because, her mother's name was also Elena. Her mother also used the last letter in her name to give her Anabel."

"But who are you?"

"I am the queen. Queen Ann."

All these story was new to me. "So my mum is really a princess?"

"You don't know?"

"What happened to her? How did she end up in the forest?" I was so curious to know that story.

"Hmm........your mum was a very beautiful girl. And she still is." The queen started her story.

*RAY'S POV*

When we went to bed at night, I couldn't wait till morning before I made these people pay for abducting Elena's mum. I couldn't wait for Muin's plan. I had to strike immediately. I waited for Elena to sleep and when she was deep in it, I snuck out of the room.

Immediately I came outside, I bumped into Muin. "What are you doing?"

"I knew you weren't going to go through with my plan. My plans are always lame."

I laughed heartily as he said so. "Fine. Good you know, let's go." I gestured for him to follow me.

"What's the plan."

"No need to beat around the bush. We are going to abduct that king and every single person in this palace. They are all involved in this." I told him coldly.

Muin looked at me. He knew how brutal I was when decide on something.

We went into the maids quarters and carried all the maids there. They were up to a hundred of then. We did same in the guards quarters.

We went straight to the king's quarters and abducted him with his guards. We took them to the dungeon.

"Who are you? What do you want?" The king asked in fear.

"You think we were travellers? Hahahaha.....hell no. We are your worst nightmare." Muin made a scary statement.

I went closer to the king. "Where is Anabel?" I asked a straight question.

"A..ana...bel!" He trembled.

"Tell me now, or else......" I was begining to loose control.

Ramzel was already taking over me. I held the king on his shoulder, my class piercing through his skin. He yelled in pain. Muin came to hood me immediately and kept me under control.

"Let me handle it." He came closer and I left the king.

"I'm sure you're still too young to die. First, tell us the story. What really happened? Who is Anabel to you?"

"She is my stepsister." He said and we looking in shock.

He explained everything to us and how he hated her. How he sent her out and how he cane back to take her.

"Why did you come back to abduct her?"

"I needed her. Only she knows where the key lies. I've been looking for her for a very long time. A year and half. My men later found her in the forest last year."

"What key?"

"Before my father died three years ago, he made mention of a treasure that lies underneath the palace. He said all his assets and possessions are in that treasure. He said only his wives know where the key is. When I asked my mother, she said it might be with Elena, Anabel's mum. But she died many years ago. So it might have been with Anabel." The king said all these in fear.

"Humans......always so selfish and wicked. Where is Anabel now? You've been keeping her here for a year."

"I kept on asking her for so long where the key was but she never said a word. Ever since I've abducted her, she hasn't uttered a word. I was tired of her silence and a month ago, I threw her in the underground dungeon."

"You did what?" I ran to him in fear ready to strangle him when Muin held me.

"Calm down Ray. You....take us there right now." Muin told the king.

He stood up and took us to the underground dungeon. He opened the door with the key abd Muin went down. I followed.

"Anabel! Anabel!!" We kept shouting as we descended the underground stairs.

There was no answer. Everywhere was dark but we could still see. We looked around, then we saw her sleeping. She layed on the floor, sleep. She was feeling really cold abd weak. I quickly Carried her.

There were so many traps I'm the dungeon. How could she have survived. We passed through the traps abd brought her out.

"I'm not surprised seeing a brother do this to his own sister. Such is life. But you will dearly pay for this." I gave him a hard slap that threw him into the dungeon. He shouted as he fell right inside.

I felt so angry with myself that I couldn't kill him. I really wanted to remove his black heart and give it to the dogs.

Anabel woke up to see the light after a very long time. I made sure I carried her back into the palace. She was feeling scared in my arms but she didn't speak. She just kept looking at me.

"Wow...  That is such a long and emotional story." I said. Tears was just running down my eyes. I couldn't imagine what my mum would have gone through in the hands of her brother and in the forest, alone.

"Come......let's go and look for everyone." The queen said and we stood up.

We went outside the room and went into the big sitting room in the palace.

"I wonder where they all went." I said, feeling restless.

Just then, Raya came running to me.

"Raya!!" I carried her and she licked me happily. "Why are you so excited?" I asked and just then, the door opened widely.

"Mum!"
