After a minor surgery to repair the stent, Jane spent a few days in the hospital before finally getting a release day to go home.

"Now remember, we'll be back in January to remove that sucker. In the meantime, recover at your own pace, but at the same time don't hesitate to call us or Doctor Yang if anything feels off okay?" JD said, handing her the discharge papers.

"Will do. Will you thank the others for me?" Jane asked as she signed the papers. "Of course. Just make sure that when you go to PT that they send me out vitals as soon as they are done so I can get a feeling about where you'll be come January." JD smiled before excusing himself.

"So, I'm gonna have you sleep on the recliner downstairs until you feel ready to go upstairs." Maura says, helping Jane into the wheelchair. "Will you sleep downstairs with me?" Jane asked.

"I'll be on the couch for a few nights if you need me, but I'm hoping for you to graduate to bed here shortly." Maura smiled. Jane looked closely at her wife. She ran a thumb under Maura's eye, "Have you been sleeping?"

"Jane." "Maura, what is going on?" Jane asked. Maura sniffled, "I'm fine. Just so happy that you're going home."

"Maur..." Jane started, but was cut off by Rey entering the room. "Alrighty, are you ready?" She smiled.

Jane nods. Rey walks over and begins to push the wheelchair. "So, how soon until you can run a department?" Jane asked.

"Well, I have boards in May, but I have been able to run the cardiac department at RHCH alone. JD has been gone twice in around two years and trusts me enough to run it when he's gone." Rey said as they entered the elevator.

"I'm guessing that I'm the first adult in a while you've operated on." "Yes Ma'am, I transferred from Mercy with Doctor Torres and was basically picked out of the bunch by him." Rey began to push the chair again as the doors opened.

"Do you like cardio?" Jane asked. "Yeah. Everyone at Mercy kept pushing me towards General, but he and Torres saw that I thrive in cardio." Rey says, stopping the chair as Angela pulls up, "Alright, you have everyone's numbers, just remember if you feel Tachycardic, call 911 immediately."

"Will do, thank you Doctor Hamil." "No problem. Maura, will you help me stand her?" Rey turned to Maura who had been very quiet.

"Of course." Maura smiled. The two helped her up before Maura guided her to the car. Once Jane was in, she ran her thumb over Maura's cheek, "What's going on? Tell me...please."

"Let's get you home." Maura closed the door. Jane felt hurt as Maura shut her out. She looked out the window, watching as the scenery changed from the familiarness of the hospital to the Boston views before the familiar sight of her neighborhood.

All her neighbors were out, clapping. Jane was confused for a moment before Angela spoke up, "The kids organized this."

Jane smiled as they finally pulled into the driveway. Her brothers and her children stood outside holding a sign. She got out, gingerly, and went to hug her children. Abree had flown back the day before to be there when Jane came home.

She waved to her neighbors before going inside. She was exhausted from all the stimulation, but excited to be home.

Abree led her to the recliner and helped her sit. "Thanks Bree." Jane sighed. "You're welcome Mama." She smiled.

Maura walked over and started fussing over something. "Maura?" Jane called out, "What are you doing?"

"I'm having issues with getting your portable EKG to take all of the settings." Maura said. "Maura, I don't need an EKG. You heard what JD said, I'm okay." Jane flapped her arm out to her wife.

Maura sighs and walks over, "What if you're asleep and you become Tachycardic or Bradycardic or if your oxygen level is too low or-" "Maura, let's not worry about this now, okay? I'm home now. Let's celebrate that...okay?"

Maura nods before kissing her head, "Welcome home Jane."

I do apologize for the late update! I've been fairly busy and I rewrote this chapter like three times and eventually settled onto what I have here.

I'm going to try and get on a more consistent schedule, but no guarantees.
