A few weeks had gone by since she had been released from the major confinements from her heart.
Although it had taken more than a day to think about it, Jane decided to partake in the trial. Maura had been one of the deciding factors for Jane as she wanted to return to the life she had gotten just before she was called back to service.
"So, tell me about you and your family. What do you like to do for fun?" Roman asked as he crossed his legs. "Well, you know about my military career and you've met my wife. We have four children: Abree, Tony, Kate and Brady. I think you briefly met the triplets. My oldest is down in Georgia playing soccer, but she plans to come up for one of the family sessions." Jane moved her hair out of her face.
"I'm guessing that you haven't done a whole lot of physical activity since before you left." "No. No. Uh, Abree and Tony are the athletes. Kate is definitely gonna be the Boston DA someday. Brady does music and if I remember right, he is signed and releasing music." "Oh wait, I think I've heard some of his music."
"He'd be honored to know that." Jane smiled. "Now, we're gonna switch gears." Roman cleared his throat, "I have read up on your service history and everything that has happened in the last five-six years...I hate to ask, but what happened in that prison and if you remember, quote, 'just shoot him!'?"
Jane's face fell as she froze. While she vaguely remembered what happened, it almost had disappeared from her memory.
She began muttering something in Arabic as she looked at her hands and began to rock. "Jane? Jane, are you still with me?" Roman pulled the emergency pager closer into reach in case she got violent.
Her eyes almost got darker as she looked up at him, "I won't fucking tell you anything! You can't make me and just wait until the wrath of the United States comes down on you!"
Roman pressed a button as he watched her begin to pace. A nurse and a security officer entered in quickly and started heading towards her. "Wait! Give me one moment." Roman says, slowly approaching her. He snapped his fingers near her ear, "Click. Boom."
Jane's breathing slowed down and she looked at Roman. She felt confused, why was she standing? Why was there an officer and a nurse in here?
"That worked?" The Officer whispered.
"You're excused." Roman said. The two left leaving Jane and Roman alone.
"What the fuck did you do?" Jane's voice lowered. "I think I know where the root lies." Roman went back to his chair and sat, "Let's continue shall we?"
"Look Doc, I don't know what the hell just happened, but I think I'm done for the day." Jane went over to her chair and grabbed her coat.
"We aren't finished. We still have half an hour." "No. We are done for the day." Jane brushed past him, "See you Friday."
Once she left, Roman sighed before writing in his notes:
Hostile, yet not violent. Recommend wrist restraints for sleeping.
