When he learned that I was flying back home, he invited himself. He just broke up with his ex, that spoiled young superstar. Hindi ko alam kung sino ang mas sikat sa kanila. Both of them were songwriters. She was two years younger than him.
I knew he was broken for some time. When I contacted him after I learned about their breakup, he laughed in a hollow tone. "If you didn't hear that we broke up, you won't call me," was the first thing he said.
